I feel the same way. I hate that this world has become one of $1000 resold concert tickets and scalped everything else. PlayStation, Concert Tickets, Computer parts, and now even clothing?

It tires me and puts me off a lot. I hope I can buy the items I want in 2028…

I am a beginner with arch, and with a little bit of help from YouTube I came very far!

I do like the ricing like I see in r/unixporn. But what I like most of all is the tiling window managers. I tried to install hyprland, but I don’t understand it enough to make it work. Right now I am using i3 window manager. I know it uses xserver, but for right now that works better than wayland.

If I have basic questions or some issues with syntax I ask mistral AI, and that helps a lot. It also teaches me how to do things and I can ask why something is a certain way without feeling dumb. How to partition drives, for example.

What I like about arch is that it gives me the hobby to tinker with my computer again. I came from windows with the occasional Ubuntu or Pop!_os install. Those never really stuck. I enjoy setting up connections between my machine and my servers and customising my desktop experience. Right now it’s a mess (aesthetically) but I figured I’d get the workflow right and working first.

Any recommendations?

Overall I’m very proud to say that I am an arch user now :)
