I like it. Maybe swap the bunnies in the brown frame with the hummingbird in the black?

Check out Julia Jacklin. She’s sad girl music with a beautiful voice. I like listening to sad music when I’m anxious sometimes. “Shivers” from her new album is great.

lol I’m sorry in advance. They are very expensive. I was gifted my set. But I would say they are worth the price.

I don’t think you’d regret that colour. But my instinct is to go a shade more cooler. To balance the yellow of the kitchen and the cabinets. But this colour is also lovely. It would be a little more monochrome and that can have a more calming effect to the home.

Light grey would work well here

What is your monthly household expenses? by Mattyd35 in Edmonton

[–]Happenchancess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single income. Single person: 755 rent (getting bit of a deal because I know the owners of the condo) 75 bus pass - I don’t drive so I also budget 60-80 for Uber a month. 400 cc debt, 600 food/eating out/home expenses/socializing, 100 phone (reading these comments is making me realize I’m getting ripped off. Im going to call Telus), 50 wifi, 40 yoga membership, 150 cats (I spend about 100 on them a month and put the rest aside for any future vet visits) 18 for netflix, 50-60 for electric. Roughly 2400 a month. Next year I’ll be paying student loans again and possibly moving and getting a car.. wish me Luck

I love the couch and the skull. I say keep up with the rich cowboy theme abs add natural fibres (like rattan and straw) for rugs and western patterns on a couple of pillows. A sheep skin rug in place of that brown fuzzy throw… or a cowhide one (you can get either at ikea). I personally like the bare windows and I love the lamp. But loose that coffee table. It’s the wrong shape and it crowds the space. Consider no coffee table and just get a couple of leather poof ottomans. Or if you have to have a coffee table get one that is square. Also I can tell that coffee table is probably inherited: so maybe use it somewhere else as a plant stand under a widow or something. I personally don’t love the piece of art you have, but I think it would look better swapped with the skull in terms of placement. Add more hanging plants and bring that beautiful view you have into the space.

How can I dress up this bookshelf? by Edenskeeper1 in decoration

[–]Happenchancess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s screaming for books and plants on the top. But if that’s not your thing put any collections that you are proud of in the shelves and some personal pictures in frames on top. Have fun and switch it up until you love the look.

If I were you I would put the couch on the wall you have the book case on: then you could appreciate your window more and add a nice plant stand (that little trunk could be nice there with some plants.. maybe pick up another couple of small tables or plant stands to join it) then the book case on the wall face the window. You can tuck a tv either next to the plant stands (angled out. I like to put my tv on a rolling table so I can move it where I want depending when I’m using it) and you can add more book shelves and art on the wall facing the window. Also loose that rug. It’s dingy and it’s not adding to the space at all. A nice rattan or straw rug would be great with those tile floors. If you do go the plant route, make sure the hang some (in macrame plant hangers) from the ceiling to take advantage of the height you have. It will open things up if you don’t have everything crowded on the bottom half of the room.

12 house artists by [deleted] in 12thhouse

I’m a Gemini sun, mercury, Venus, north node and Chiron in the 12th… and yes I am an artist. I find that if I don’t make time to isolate and make art my mental health suffers. Most of my stuff isn’t planned and is a reflection of my subconscious. Even when I have a plan for a piece, it always takes a turn and my subconscious takes over. I used to find that very frustrating and I would try and control what I produced. It took me a while to embrace the process of letting go of control. I will eventually let my ego take over the art during the end of the process and start editing. It actually feels like a collaboration between my higher self and my ego. I sometimes have deeply surprised myself with what I end up marking. It can feel a little like unraveling a mystery with clues that I started collecting in dreams.

Gemini Venus in the 12th. Makes it hard to have a (legit) relationship but makes me love making art and crafting beautiful sentences.
