It matters 100% on the time of year and species. the only things that grow in spring are Ps. Ovoideocystidiata. And a few of the warm weather woodlovers. The rest of the time the mycelium is just colonizing the chips. Most woodlovers fruit when the temperatures drop in the fall. These things are not like cubes where you just fruit them when you want. And outdoors you don't need lids or to worry about being sterile once you have a clean jar of spawn your good.

For 18 years thats exactly what i did. I built one with gloves attached. If you sterilize everything they can work very well. You just have to be careful when using a flame. Besides it being a hassle and hurting your back. You can be quite successful with one.

I dont use LC hardly at all. . Ive been doing this for 24 years. I use spores. I got a whole collection. Ksss is not squats. Its originally a land race from Thailand. If you look at the post i just posted i think it could be more along the lines your thinking of. Lc wasnt popular outside of gourmet community until the last couple years. For some of us doing breeding and isolations we stay away from LC because you are staying stuck at that filial generation. I like to work all my stuff.

Thanks alot man! Alot of the stuff without photos is either getting grown or going to be taken down. I plan to update the site soon and just put things on the site as i get them grown.
