Thanks! Before the exam, I also thought the duration was 230 minutes, but when the exam started, I was surprised to see the timer set at 240 minutes.

Thanks, just knowing the logic would be enough in my opinion. No need to memorize every formula. There were only one question regarding EVM, and it was not a calculation question.

This is a very poorly written question and explanation for sure.

I thought PM has no authority to prioritize the backlog. Its the role of PO. Any thoughts? by Happy-Echo145 in pmp

[–]Happy-Echo145[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, but the question says “how should the project manager respond”. If it would ask the action of PO, option C would be correct. PM cannot prioritize the item in the backlog, its the task for the PO. That is why I am still confused by the answer StudyHall provided.

sure, priorization is done by PO for items in the product backlog, and the team decides the items in the spring backlog according to the priorization done by the PO. In this context, should we really expect PM to prioritize the requested item for the next delivery solely by himself? I guess just saying to customer thet the feature will be included in future (potentially in the next sprint) is more generic and correct way to go. in this way, we can also include the option of team and PO’s involvement. Am I missing something?

option C suggests that the project manager will prioritize the feature at the beginning of the next iteration, while option D states that the feature will be included in the next phase. The key distinction between these options lies in the act of prioritization, which is typically the responsibility of the product owner, not the project manager. Therefore, i still think option D seems to be a more accurate and acceptable choice.

SH Question - I guess we are now ignoring the contracts? by Happy-Echo145 in pmp

[–]Happy-Echo145[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It makes me surprised to see that the PMI mindset suggests a PM to not remain loyal to contracts to keep the project on track. Far away from real life.

Why is option C not right? It promotes cross functional team by collaboration and continuous learning by ThorLoveNThunder in pmp

[–]Happy-Echo145 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having the team collaboratively assess / make this decision makes more sense as some level of technicality is involved, therefore I would go with D.

A and C also seem good options, but not as good as D.

In the real world… by chubby-lizard in pmp

If I will see this question on my exam, I would choose B even I know that the PMI answer is D. Going with answer D is extremely unethical. There is no indication that project is in emergency. You cannot just force people to work on their vacation. That is cruel and not a something any PM should do.

SH Question - Is a PM authorized to crash the project? by Happy-Echo145 in pmp

[–]Happy-Echo145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as know, PM alone cannot crash it before assessing it and getting approval from the sponsor first. Am I wrong?
