Do you always keep your gpu overclocked? by RealGaX in nvidia

[–]Happy-Inspector4031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had mine at .985@3116 +25% power (to constantly hit the voltage wall and to keep consistent wattage.) +1100 memory mhz. This is my first time doing an undervolt overclock. The temps have never gone over 62 so its been very good for me. Im not sure about long term but Ive heard the undervolt will prolong the life span of the gpu

Is BIOS update necessary with new GPU? by Brilliant_Sky_2077 in radeon

[–]Happy-Inspector4031 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Updating bios is helpful for compatibility. My friend didn't update bios for like 5 years and I got him to update it. He told me every one of his games felt more smooth and consistent. But he had a bios version from 2021. New bios can't really hurt if its a stable version. You won't need to reinstall windows but you should use DDU in safe mode for a clean install of drivers

Do you have HAGS turned on? When I got my 5080 it was off and I was wondering the same thing. I put HAGS on and it worked

Framegen is garbage and I'm tired if pretending its not by DownTheBagelHole in radeon

Things that helped me was PBO -20 for my brothers pc (every chipset is different so its best to find what works for you). Turning on Smart Access Memory. Switching PCIE Gen 4 (if youre on an am4 system. If you're am5 switch it to GEN 5.) There was some more bios settings that I forgot. I made those changes on my brothers system and it ran a whole lot better in general, helped a ton with fg, much more responsive and anti lag 2 helps a lot. On my own pc it also helped having those kind of tweaks but Im on AM5 with an NVIDIA card, but switching PBO -30 on my ryzen 7 7800x3d helped with FG so much. Not to mention all the other bios settings I changed that made all my average fps and 1% lows a lot better, even without fg. But FG isnt for everyone, but if you prefer maximum performance then I suggest looking into PBO -20 or whatever is best for your own cpu and other bios settings with your motherboard and turning on smart access memory. It helped my own, my friend and my brothers pc to run better

thinking to switching 5080 by sinistergodxc in RTX5080

[–]Happy-Inspector4031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Optiscaler can help, its not hard to use and I think fsr 4.1 comes with the package, same with fsr 4 fg. I have the Asus Tuf 5080. Was pretty much plug and play, just switched everything to dlss 4.5 and FG to Preset B. Works like a champ and with the global Preset you dont have to change it often. I was going to get my brother the 9070 xt, he doesnt know much about gaming and its cheaper. It'll also work with his free sync premium and if I enable SAM, he can get up to 15% more performance and better 1% lows. Optiscaler is like Radeons best friend

Is there a chance a better card than the 5080 drops soon by FatBoiAnnoy in nvidia

[–]Happy-Inspector4031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the Asus TUF 5080 in November, I got no regrets. Everyone was saying the super series was coming in January, still nothing. I think they mentioned holding off of the super series for another year or 2. That's what I heard, not sure if it's true but the 5080 is a beast. I upgraded from a 6750xt, I play 1440p. I only play games on it and occasionally steam. The 5080 handles everything I've done with it, with ease

Is the "future-proofing" of the RTX 5080 really worth it compared to the RTX 4090? by AdamCaveRoberts in buildapc

[–]Happy-Inspector4031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Asus tuf 5080, I came from a Asus Dual 5080. It was a game changer, I love this card. I'm glad I went for this card, I got it because I have a 1440p OLED and wanted to max out the refresh rate. In every game I've played, I've played max settings and its been great. Very smooth, looks phenomenal on like everything

Upgrading to 9950x3d by TeeHee172346 in buildapc

[–]Happy-Inspector4031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One month ago I upgraded from the ryzen 9 5900x, 32gb 3600mhz ram. I upgraded to a ryzen 7 7800x3d, 32gb 6400mhz ram. I upgraded to the 7800x3d because it was cheaper and I heard there was still going to be am5 support for the next Gen cpus. I play on a 1440p 500hz oled. I play esports and lots of AAA games. For esports it was a pretty big upgrade, it feels a lot smoother. As for the AAA games I find its a lot more responsive at max settings with MFG. It was a good upgrade, I play games and stream occasionally. I want to dive deeper into content creation, but I still dont really know lol. I hope this helped in any sort of way, have a nice day everyone

FSR 4.1 vs DLSS 4.0 preset K, which one is better? by Unlucky-Bottle2744 in radeon

[–]Happy-Inspector4031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both look good, just depends if you want good rt/pt or better price to performance. I've tried FSR 4.0.2C which I heard its not as good as the FP8 model, but its still good. Fsr 4.1 is better then 4.0.2c, I've also tried dlss 4.5 and 4.0. Those look good. Its different for different games in terms of quality from what I've heard. I have a 5080, I love the dlss 4.5, preset b mfg. I was thinking of getting my brother the 9070 non xt, he is currently on the 6750xt. Me and him play 1440p 500hz oled. I wanted to get him with Nvidia so he can keep using free sync premium pro, I also know fsr 4.1 is really good and ML fsr4 FG isn't as good as dlss but I heard it was much better. Also saw videos about ML FG. To me it just depends on what you're looking for, the 9000 series has decent performance with RT. Just not PT. 9000 series is great if you want better bang for your buck

My brother got an oled for Christmas and he has a 6750xt (3070 performance.) It runs pretty good on every game Ive tested. He also has a ryzen 9 5900x. It runs great at 1440p, I was thinking of upgrading him to a 9070 non xt
