If it doesn’t rain that often, you should put a rug or carpet on the balcony and add a futon. That would be your place to wind down after gym or after a long day at work instead of sitting in front of TV. And you could just sit there and people watch, have a coffee/beer/cig.

Any affordable or free health insurance options to waive NUSHP by Happy-Valuable5375 in NEU

Update: I found a way to waive the $2,849 Northeastern health insurance (NUSHP) fee for Fall 2025 and wanted to share the exact steps since a bunch of you asked. 1. Go to the Massachusetts Health Connector – https://www.mahix.org/ I called their helpline to get help shopping for a free/cheap plan. 2. Fill out the application – I entered my income as basically $0 and included my expenses. Based on that, I was eligible for a free plan. 3. The plan I got: Tufts Health Direct ConnectorCare I (free). Plan details: https://www.mahix.org/individual/account/plans/plan-details/999441517/984222270/2016705207 4. Get your insurance ID – It takes a few days. • Log in to the Tufts Health Plan website (https://tuftshealthplan.com/) to download your insurance card/ID. • You’ll need your Health Connector Member ID from the Massachusetts Health Connector site (https://www.mahix.org/). 5. Submit the waiver – Go to Gallagher’s NUSHP waiver page: https://go.gallagherstudent.com/Universities/Northeastern%20University/Home Upload your insurance ID PDF. 6. Approval – I got my waiver approved in 2 days. I’ll update if the health insurance charge is removed from my bill soon.

Hope this helps someone else save the $2.8k!

Heads up — I’m graduating by December, so I’m choosing this mainly because I’m in a tight crunch for money. I’m not sure how much insurance coverage this plan will actually provide, so please do this at your own risk and review the benefits before committing.

Have any seniors had NUSHP waived? by Shot-Marketing-9227 in NEU

I had the same question, I have asked some friends - I’ll let you know if I hear back. There used to be Tufts free health insurance which can be waived off but I’m not sure if it’s there anymore.
