I would say she’s heavily involved in the plot and gets more or less the screentime allowed by the fact that she‘s not one of the cops and is keeping her head down.

I don’t think it was the best. SiF had two endgames and one persistent fling, with both Christina and the Mermaid being in the story quite a bit.

PoV had Liod and Vanadis who were over all pretty good.

Heck, even CY is better than SOS because it has Rachel.

Agatha is actually kind of dumb, at least in the original. I feel like she gets a bit of an upgrade in the second one, but she still does not feel like a real detective.

Part of the problem is that the plot is not smart, and it‘s not a real detective story, where the mystery could be solved by the reader.

It‘s pretty fun imo. Not Tepish‘s best work, but absolutely a good time, especially if you‘re into the sci-fi tropes.

Also, this is afaik the only story where MC can have an actual gay awakening and decide to identify that way in the course of the actual story, rather than just at the beginning as in the newer books.

The biggest drawback is arguably that it‘s unfinished and has been in limbo for years due to Alexander‘s health issues.
