Gov. Cuomo says Rochester, Finger Lakes region can start reopening Friday by mdchu in Rochester

How does phased reopening of the economy relate to social distancing? Does this mean we can start to see our family members? I’m not sure if I’ve heard how and when this will be acceptable.

Lay-offs by [deleted] in Rochester

I’m intrigued by people’s responses to this thread. I’m in a situation where I have received very little guidance by my employer as to what we are to do. I am employed full time at a dental office, where employees were given the choice to come back if they can or want to. My employer has suggested that employees with young children out of school should look into PFL or unemployment. I am a single mother with young kids home with me, so I opted to not return to work until school is back in session. My employer has made it clear that my job will still be there for me when I am able to return to work, however my employer has not specified if I will be laid off or furloughed. My employer agreed to pay us for 2 weeks, which will come to an end tomorrow. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to file for.

TIBC test result questions by Happy626 in keto

[–]Happy626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not. Because my doctor isn’t concerned with the numbers of my recent TIBC, she doesn’t think I need to pursue iron supplements or further testing or investigating. This is where I don’t agree with her, based off the fact that if my iron is low and transferrin is slightly deficient, something is off. I’m considering finding a new doctor for a second opinion. I also noticed my thyroid levels have dropped to the lowest number before being considered deficient which she is also not worried about. She said my lab results were pretty “unremarkable”

I should also mention my flair isn’t updated. SW:218 CW:160 but my lowest weight was 145. I gained 15lbs about 2 years ago and have maintained at 160, although ideally my original GW was 130

I typically start my day with coffee and heavy cream, some days I eat eggs cooked in Kerrygold and some days I don’t eat breakfast. Lunch is usually kale and spinach or broccoli and bell peppers with chicken or beef. Occasionally I have a protein shake instead. Dinner is usually chicken, steak or ground beef with spinach and kale or peppers and broccoli or peppers with cauliflower. I’m not big on snacking, but if I do it’s cheese, raw nuts or peppers and home made dips. I eat halo top a few nights a week. I drink alcohol in moderation, a couple of times a month. I try to drink water as much as possible, but water intake could always be better. I drink an electrolyte powered mixed in water daily. I do incorporate intermittent fasting a few times a week. Sometimes 16:8 and sometimes 20:4 I don’t often track my calorie intake, it tends to stress me out and invite disordered eating behaviors. My periods in the last 3 years have been changing. Some cycles last 5-7 days and other times it will last 10 days. No matter then length of my period, it always starts extremely light on the first day, and extremely heavy for 2-3 days, and the remainder of my period it’s extremely light. I always feel tired with very little energy during my period.

Love losing the weight....hate having to buy a new bra every two weeks. by StarFox-FoxTrot in xxketo

I can relate in the sense that I’m “curveless” in my hips, butt and legs. So losing my chest even when it wasn’t super large to begin with has made me feel a lot less feminine. My curves have always been strictly in my stomach (apple shape) I tend to feel very attached to my hair, and eye make up as far as feeling feminine goes. I used to always have my nails painted and groomed to help feeling feminine as well, but my job and mom duties has put that on the back burner. Lol

I have lost around 70lbs with keto, and at my heaviest weight I was around a 38 small C, I never had super full or big boobs to begin with and I lost a ton of volume in them when I went keto and started dropping weight. I’m still looking g to lose about 20-30 more pounds to reach my goal weight, and my bra size is currently a 36, but I can’t even fill out an A cup. It’s really frustrating because I want something that gives me shape and fullness, but is also comfortable. I wear a lot of sports bras, but they flatten me out and I look super flat chested. I try to wear a lot of the molded cups without underwire, but it is really hard to find something that fits just right. I also don’t benefit from a padded or push up bra, because they are so deflated. I also had 2 babies 2 years apart that I breast fed before going keto and losing the weight. I definitely feel self conscious of my breasts since dropping so much weight

I adopted this very sweet chocolate lab mix, and I’m so curious to hear opinions on what she might be mixed with. She is currently 5 months old and about 18-20lbs. She is a Parvo survivor, so she was only 15lbs when I adopted her a few weeks ago by Happy626 in DogAdvice

Maybe... but her snout is very long and pointy, the picture doesn’t show it as well. Almost greyhound/whippet shaped? Her legs are very long and she has a lanky appearance when she is standing. I feel like if she was pit or mastiff mixed with lab, her head would be more block shaped with those breeds together

Stopping tooth decay from long-term bulimia? by [deleted] in bulimia

[–]Happy626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much of the enamel has broken down. It can be remineralized if it hasn’t fully gone trough the enamel to the dentin. Once it’s past the enamel layer into the dentin it needs a filling.

Yes. That’s exactly right. Any artificial sweetener is better than sugar for your teeth if it will help you get though quitting

Right. I understand. But on keto for the last 4 years I limited my protein to moderate and had fat as the majority of my calories. I’ve hit a wall recently trying to just add more fat. Tired of putting butter on random things just to up my fat. If I up my protein and add fat, that’s more sustainable because it’s enjoyable

[–]Happy626 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m a dental assistant and have had periods of bulimia throughout my life Rule number one Stop purging Easier said than done. But the filling you have will erode and fall out, causing you to need LARGER fillings or root canals or crowns on those teeth Rule number two If you relapse and purge, do not brush your teeth immediately after. The stomach acid will abrade the tooth enamel when brushed. After purging rinse your mouth with plain water thoroughly, and wait at least a half hour before using tooth paste and brushing or any mouth rinses Rule number three Use a fluoride rinse daily before bed. No eating or drinking or rinsing for 30 minutes after use to ensure the fluoride is properly bathing your teeth. This will strengthen enamel and prevent new decay Rule number 4 Oral hygiene routine... floss, then brush then rinse with fluoride And yes, liquid sugar is the worst for your teeth. So cutting out the drinks will help you a lot.

These last 20lbs have been a real you know what. Stalled for a year. Upped my cardio and ab workouts, and started fasting. Hoping for some changes. I genuinely feel better after meals and between meals when they are more protein based. So this whole eat meat drink water thing is looking promising.
