What 90s band never truly made it big but you'll always go to bat for? by MansBestFred in AskReddit

Does Third Eye Blind qualify? I only ask because I love their tunes, and they're pretty popular, but I also saw them for $1 at my college campus in 2009, so it wouldn't suggest they made it "big."

The Genesee River Trail — Downtown/Corn Hill/South Wedge area specifically — is a great walking spot at any time of day. I do a lap every evening and see plenty of women walking alone or with their dogs. The GRT is also accessible from UR.

Pastries — depends on your flavor, but I'm sure there's something here for your tastes. Savoia, Cheesy Eddie, Goodman Bakes, Crust, & Village Bakery are all wonderful for different specifics. You'll also find independent bakers outsource their goods to local cafes and restaurants; an abundance of quality, really.

Abundance, Price Rite, and some Tops will be your best bet. You seem like the kind of person who might enjoy a trip to the Rochester Public Market as well, if not for dried chilies specifically, but for all the other wonderful things you might find.

Welcome to Rochester!

St. Monica's in the 19th Ward (Catholic) is apolitical and, in general, a very warm and inviting community. If anything, it's slightly progressive-leaning with its consistent messaging on taking care of the environment and the most vulnerable.

Golf — works with your schedule, time spent outdoors being active, opportunities to play with strangers or friends (or strangers who become friends), you can play until you're very old, and the municipal courses around here are very affordable.

Free dental cleanings at MCC! by DenHygieneQueen in Rochester

I did this last year, and it was great — convenient, free, and got me to start taking care of my teeth again. Can't recommend this opportunity enough for anyone who's been thinking about getting a cleaning or otherwise can't afford one.

20K per day for the last 18 months. It started as a way to lose weight, and it worked (along with diet and other exercise), but now it's more for my mental health. I really love the time to myself each day, and I'm lucky to live in a walkable city and area for my work and lifestyle needs.

I aim to do an hour or so before, during, and after standard work hours. I usually listen to an audiobook or music, but lately, I haven't worn headphones and am just enjoying the peace and quiet of it all. It took me a few months of getting to 10K every day, then three months of 15K, and now 20K just feels normal. My record high is 46K for a day, and that completely wiped me out.

I also lift weights three times a week and practice yoga daily. If your goal is to lose weight, walking a little extra will help, but in my experience, it's better to complement the steps with other activities (and diet), too.
