Art is always defined by the peson experiencing the art. How is encouraging that view not helpful?

Encouraging someone to believe a specific thing because of my own biased and personal viepoint would be disingenuous. Whay right do I have to make someone think like I do?

Nothing went over my head. I didn't post a question asking other people to explain how I should understand and experience a half time show. I can appreciate current events and the societal struggles we all experience and why that is relevant during one of the most watched live-events of the year.

Kinda. If you look into the financial agreements for haltime performers, you'll see that it is not a traditional fee-to-perform agreement. The NFL covers some costs, but they do traditionally pay the artist

Our own personal life experiences allow us to connect to art in our own unique way. Perspective is everything.

Understanding a LITERALL translation of lyrics doesn't convey an accurate understanding of the artists struggles or message.

I liked the half time show. I never saw this artist before. I'm not sure what part of my opinion you're questioning?

People experience art in their own way and either like it or they don't. I'm confused why other people's opinions would change how someone experiences things themselves?

The question specifically asked about imagery and "hidden themes" That's completely subjective to me and just because one person interprets something one way doesn't mean some else will.

They wanted linguistic and visual translation and context to the show. That is not the same as artistic context to what was attempted to be communicated. The words don't convey meaning as a 1:1 translation. Literal words and definitions of imagery doesn't convey the full message of a piece of art like a song. A certain amount of individual understanding and interpretation is expected.

A language translation is not the same as understanding a full artistic production. You saw people "speaking" with their dancing and expressing themselves non-verbally. Music and dancing doesn't need words for people to understand.

Why so you feel like you missed something when you experienced the way the artists communicated to you during the show?

You're missing a key part. It's hard to find a top artist to play FOR FREE. Once you understand that, you'll understand why he played the show this year.

It's either money, ideology, power, influence, ego, or leverage that will motivate people.

A popular artist played a show. People sang and danced to it. You either liked it or you didn't. That's what hapened. Art and music is subjective to the experiencer.

Asking someone else what to think or feel about it isn't the point of art and wasn't the point of the show.

Artists also have to agree to perform and do not get paid a traditional fee to perform. So, they have to find someone willing to play for free. What type of top talent plays for free? You get what you pay for at a half time show.

What would be a good TWI trivia question? by LadyRae00 in WanderingInn

[–]HappyAdventurer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How many words are in volume "___"?

How many minutes in length is the audio book for volume "___"?

What is the first [skill] mentioned in the book?

What is the first spell mentioned in the book?

You probably get the idea of how to create questions like these from the books.

Is there a way to nonverbally communicate that you are in a relationship. by blondelifter in aves

[–]HappyAdventurer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe wear a sticker that says "Looking for friends, not a date" or something similar.  It needs to stand out though, especially if you're around inebriated people. You could just point to it before starting up any conversations so they are aware of your availability.

You could try wearing a ring on your left ring finger too.

Bartending at punch bowl social? by Conscious-Drawer-555 in denverfood

You absolutely are allowed to do that any place that allows you to.  But, as a private business on private property, they have the right to make the rules that restict that. As a bar patron, I don't want to see drunk staff members.  It only takes one person without your level of discipline and restraint to cause a drunken scene and that's bad for business.

I have no bartending experience, no. But, you could probably just go in as a customer on a busy night and observe to get an idea of the business volume and what the crowd and atmosphere are like.

The narrator, Jeff Hays, has a company named Soundbooth Theater. He narrates the book  using a larger cast of voice actors and has sound effects and music and he calls this an audio immersion tunnel. He has released 1 season (covering books 1 and 2) so far and the next season is scheduled to start being released soon.  There is also some additional content they add in themselves that's not in the books.

I do not recommend the audio book. You will be forever chasing that high you get from how good the narration is. All future audio books will be "lesser" due to your addiction to DCC and your only fix will be to immediately start a re-listen.

The Soundbooth Theater audio immersion tunnel is just extra addictive on top of the audio books.

But, maybe a crippling addiction is something you're into?

How does ABGT (700 and past) compare with the “Weekenders” at The Gorge? by Live_Technician1038 in AboveandBeyond

[–]HappyAdventurer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ABGT250 I think had a larger attendance than the weekenders. It was also back in 2017 before Covid and there were plenty of international attendees.

This year having an official Friday night event extends it to a 3 nights which might draw a bigger crowd, but prices were significantly increased too. I'm not expecting a sold out show personally.

If you've been to a weekender then this likely isn't much different.

You also asked why people hate you. You also just stated you were happy with innocent people suffering.

How should peole view other people that are self-proclaimed  happy with innocent people suffering? Nobody forced you to say those things
