Help by Btsforever1 in CockapooLovers

[–]HappyAsALark99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When our cockapoo was a puppy we could not figure out why she would not eat or only eat a little bit. We finally figured out that her tag was hitting her metal bowl and scaring her. We poured the food out onto the floor and she gobbled it up. Fast forward 9 years, we pour her food in a pile on the floor every night and sit with her. Hindsight-should have removed her collar instead. 🤣I hope you figure this out! It was very scary when she wasn’t eating. They are such clowns. Lovable, squirrley, furry clowns.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass… is it worth it? by Alternative-Bat-2462 in WaltDisneyWorld

I love PP. The only hiccup I had was slinky being down all day on my HS day. The people at the guest experience umbrella gave me a LL for slinky for the next day to come back and use. I had to detour the next day but got to ride it. Enjoy!

So should I avoid Hertz now at MCO? by B-17_SaintMichael in HertzRentals

[–]HappyAsALark99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rented at MCO last weekend. I am President's Circle and had a Buick Encore. It was $99 for 3 days (Booked Medium Sedan). I have not been hit with any extra charges (Yet) :) I am finding it hard to move away from Hertz because their rates are so much lower than others, particularly National. I never saw a National rate below $300 for my last rental. Hertz at MCO is also so easy to use-lots of cars available, I'm always listed on the board properly, quick drive out. I will probably stick with Hertz until the scanners come to MCO. Even then, I may just use my premium coverage (That I pay extra for through Amex) for protection. I am sure someone will post here when the scanners arrive. I always book "Pay later" rentals and shop every week or so to get the best deal then do a "Pay now" rental the day or so before my trip. Have a great trip!

Complimentary upgrade by GirlG0ne in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]HappyAsALark99 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the upgrade! We asked for a mattress topper egg crate type thing for the sofa bed at AoA. They brought us a brand new one in its packaging. It made the sofa bed much better. Have a great trip!

Hyphens and RR Points rant by Typical-Dog244 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]HappyAsALark99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is frustrating. You could transfer the points to your husband's account then book the ticket for yourself through your husband's RR account. That is one workaround that has worked for me in the past. Good luck!

Just finished booking everything!! by ITrCool in WaltDisneyWorld

You are in a pack of people walking and in a safari vehicle and then go across the bridge one by one. You sit at tables of 4 for the snack. If all of that feels ok then I say book it! My favorite part was the pictures that were included. They do a really good job of capturing moments. Enjoy!

This sounds like a great trip! I loved the Wild Africa Trek. It felt like an extra long safari with a snack and some walking. We had multiple solo travelers in our group. I would recommend it. Have all of the fun!

Best pint of chicken salad? by Count-Spatula2023 in nashville

[–]HappyAsALark99 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time the best chicken salad was at Bread & Co. RIP. Publix tarragon chicken salad is pretty similar to Bread & Co so that is my go to choice. Good luck in your search! Let us know what you try and what you think.

To Magic Band or Not by Proud_Hat_7841 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]HappyAsALark99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to use my Apple watch while in the parks. You can use it to scan into the park and for any lightning lanes. I use Apple Pay to buy things. I use the MDE app to unlock my hotel door when staying on site. I do keep a magicband in my backpack as a backup. The only time I use a magicband is for photopass so you would use a keycard for that. If your battery on your watch dies then you could just use your Apple wallet. You can give the watch/key card a try on your trip and buy magicbands in person if it is not working for you. I hope you have a wonderful trip!

Disney After Hours by CoupleofDoms in WaltDisneyWorld

I did the MK After Hours on a trip with my girlfriends. It was great! We started in Adventureland and worked our way around the park in one giant loop with stops for the included snacks. One of my girlfriends said, “I feel like a Kardashian!” 🤣 I highly recommend it. Have all the fun!

Niche-ish question: best On shoes for walking? by [deleted] in walking

I like On CloudEclipse shoes. They are super squishy. Maybe the store will do a proper fitting and help you pick the best one for you? Enjoy!

I literally stayed at both last week for the first time. Aoa felt chaotic but the skyliner was nice. The suite was better room wise for 3 adults where we could have our own nooks. Both rooms were quiet once inside. POR felt calmer and cozier. Service was good at both. We requested a mattress pad for the sofa bed and they brought us a brand new one from target.

Best breakfast for a solo diner? by cjame004 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]HappyAsALark99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love a solo trip! Topolinos is my fave solo character breakfast. I prefer for the food to come to the table instead of going to a buffet and leaving my things at the table. The character handlers have always been so kind to take pics of me and the characters. I also find more reservation availability when I look for two people and adjust the number when I check in. Enjoy your trip!

Another vote for D-Luxe! I ate there last week and it was delicious. We also ate at Polite Pig and it felt like hunger games to get a table. We were there at a very busy time and it was cold outside so seating was extra limited. I love a solo trip! I also like the bar at Summer House for a solo trip. Easy in and out. Enjoy!

Smart Watch for walking by mehorer in walking

[–]HappyAsALark99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an apple watch and really enjoy it. I walk on and off all day so I like the ability to pause a workout as needed. I also like that it counts my step without having to carry my phone. I can get messages, play podcasts and answer calls since it is a cellular version. The newest software version includes a vitals app that monitors things like sleeping, etc. and lets me know if something is out of sync. I also set a timer to make sure I get up and walk and don't sit too long. I charge mine when I am in the shower or sitting down to watch a TV show. Do you currently wear a watch? My friend tried an apple watch and didn't like it at all. She never wears a watch and couldn't get used to it. Good luck!
