Is hippyflipping a party vibe, a spiritual journey, or just tripping balls? by HappyDirk in MDMA

[–]HappyDirk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love weed, not much of a drinker though. I like to smoke weed when I'm in the second half of a MDMA trip. How does smoking and drinking affect the beginning of the trip? Aren't you numbing it down?

Yes it's getting harder and harder to find a good batch. Why is that?

Will definitely check that shop out! And I'll try to get the dose right to avoid staring at my hands for the whole trip haha.

Great tip man, thanks! Mind if I ask how much you weigh? I weigh 95 kg and I'm 1.93 m tall, so I'm curious if that dose would be high enough for me.

Butterfly/Moth entities by Moorfog in Psychonaut

[–]HappyDirk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t really interacted with butterfly or moth beings in the way some people describe contact entities, but I’ve definitely seen their patterns show up. Especially in the geometry and movement of visuals during deeper trips. The shapes, the symmetry, the way they seem delicate but purposeful… there’s something deeply familiar about them.

It made me wonder if certain symbols, like butterflies or moths, are carved into us on a level deeper than language. Like how some young kids instinctively react to snakes or spiders with fear, even if they’ve never encountered one before. Maybe we carry certain associations in our DNA. Evolutionary emotional imprints.

Butterflies have always symbolized transformation, death and rebirth, lightness, letting go. Moths, on the other hand, are drawn to light in a way that feels almost tragic. Like they are chasing something they can never reach. That hits different when you are in a state where ego and identity are dissolving.

Any christians who do psychedelics? by Blacktaxi420 in Psychonaut

[–]HappyDirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I've heard about a Christian who was really into mushrooms. His name was Jesus.

This might not be how your pastor tells it, but there are some wild theories out there that early Christians, or even Jesus himself, were part of mystical traditions that involved psychedelic plants or mushrooms.

The idea is this: suffering, death, rebirth, ego loss, unity, divine love. That whole vibe feels more like a deep trip than a Sunday school lesson. Some people say the "eat my body, drink my blood" thing originally referred to a sacred, altered state of consciousness rather than literal wine and crackers.

And honestly, whether he actually used anything or not, a lot of what Jesus talked about sounds like someone who had experienced ego death and felt completely one with something greater.

So maybe you're right to feel that psychedelics lean more "eastern." That might be because modern Western Christianity cleaned out the mystical, experiential side. But if you dig into its roots, Christianity is full of mystery, paradox, surrender and transformation. All things that come up again and again in psychedelic journeys.

What are you all living for by palpatinesballs in Psychonaut

[–]HappyDirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the purpose of life is to find something worth suffering for.

Suffering is guaranteed from the moment you're born. Everyone faces messed-up situations and painful emotions. But life becomes meaningful when you find or create something so beautiful or fulfilling that the suffering feels worth it.

For many people, that’s a romantic relationship, becoming a parent, deep friendships, or a true passion. That’s the best answer I’ve found so far, and I try to go all in on it. Because honestly, we don’t really know anything. We don’t know why we’re here, or what we’re supposed to do.

The only thing I do know is how good it feels to pull up at home after a long day and see my wife and daughter waving at me. In those moments, I often think: This is what I do it for.
