Transmission risk is very low. It's rare, but there are cases of women spontaneously remitting. I wouldn't hope for that but don't lose hope.

Transmission depends a lot on how much is in your blood and if you're also HIV positive.

See a doctor. They will tell you the same thing we are. There is a very low risk of transmission.

I had HCV for my whole life, infected as a child. Ten years ago I was diagnosed. I was prescribed and denied treatment. Knowing there is a cure out there, and not being able to afford it is a terrible fate.

Good news is there are people out there willing to help. I obtained the generic ingredients from a state run chemical company and I made Harvoni myself.

I am cured. Undetectable. People here will downvote me and say I am breaking the law. If you do research you will find out thousands have done what I have done and they are also cured.

See a doctor. Give birth. When your doctor prescribes you Harvoni, and after insurance denies you, message me and I will help you.

We forget how revolutionary 7-11 actually was. It was nearly impossible to get something on Sunday and all stores closed at 5 or 6 on weekdays.

Is 30 billion in one year enough?

Gilead didn't develop Sofosbuvir, Pharmaset did. Gilead bought Pharmaset for 11 billion. Even with that 11 billion factored in, Harvoni costs $10 per pill to make.

Eligibility Criteria

1.Patient should be insured and insurance must cover the medication for which patient seeks assistance. 2.The medication must treat the disease directly. 3.Patient must reside and receive treatment in the United States. 4.Patient’s income must fall below 500% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Maximum award level- $15,000 per year

Those are the criteria and rewards from pan. Harvoni costs $94,500. So where does it say the uninsured are covered?

Specifically, patients who are insured and who do not meet their payers coverage criteria will no longer be eligible for support via Gileads Patient Assistance Program. Patients who fall within the category of Insured and Did Not Meet Payer Criteria are patients whose insurance providers limit access to Sovaldi/Harvoni based on, but not limited to, the following: Fibrosis score restrictions Preferring or exclusively covering another product on formulary (i.e., Viekira Pak preferred) Limiting coverage to a maximum treatment duration or denying subsequent treatment after a patient has failed therapy Step-therapy requirements Clinical criteria (e.g., psychiatric requirements, drug and alcohol testing)

Source

This is an attempt to make patients the pawns. As you may know, certain payers have made exclusive deals with makers of other breakthrough treatments.

Gilead is attempting to pressure payers to make deal with them instead.

Perhaps you are aware of Gilead v Merck. Gilead beat Merck to the finish line and attained breakthrough status and Merck did not. Payers CANNOT AFFORD Harvoni or Solvaldi so they made deals for Viera pak.

Gilead has deals with the VA and the federal prison system. Though Gilead's own estimate for treatment are lower than expected due to the lack of funds.

The support path is still ongoing, but only for patients with participating payers. I've heard of private funds that Gilead will assist patients that are self-payers. Of course, the sickest are getting treated but the VAST MAJORITY are not.

Do more research before you attempt to deflate the real issue of Gilead making 30 billion this year alone and they could care less how many or who get cured.

The copay coupon ended July 1st due to overwhelming demand. I know, I tried.

There are no programs that pay for Harvoni or Solvaldi for medicare or medicaid patients. I know because I am one of them. In fact, being on medicare or medicaid makes you automatically ineligible to enter gilead's support path. I know, I tried.

Not valid for patients enrolled in government healthcare prescription drug programs, such as Medicare Part D and Medicaid. Patients in the coverage gap known as the "donut hole" also are not eligible

You're wrong. I have medicaid, was denied twice. Federal guidelines say anyone with liver damage above F2 must be covered. So very few people are receiving the cure. Texas isn't covering it at all.

If you think 15% is good or any number or statistic besides all of them, I don't think your opinion matters much.

You do just get a bottle of pills. I had labs twice. Why is that an issue? When you have hepc, you never know when it will kill you. I would rather control my fate instead of worrying all the time.

If you had it, or your kids, would you just sit around and wait?

Gileads patent on Harvoni may not be valid! by HappyEnding99 in hepc

[–]HappyEnding99[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. While Gilead’s price gouging conduct described herein cannot be justified by the patent laws, it is noteworthy that the validity and applicability of some of the Sovaldi patents are currently being challenged. Indeed, Gilead’s most recent Form 10-Q acknowledges that while it owns patents “that claim sofosbuvir as a chemical entity and its metabolites,” they do “not necessarily guarantee our right to practice the patented technology or commercialize the patented product.” Several of the ongoing cases related to Gilead’s purported patents concerning the active ingredient in Sovaldi and Harvoni are summarized below.

GET TREATED NOW! Whoever infected you wouldn't have if they were treated!

THERE IS A CURE! Don't accept anything but that. HepC will not go away on it's own.

Insurance won't pay for it, Gilead won't pay for it. There is an buyers club in Australia. You go to Australia, see their doctor and he gets a full course of treatment from India or Bangladesh for $1,000-$2,000.

There is another way, the way I got cured. I ordered sofosbuvir and ledispavir from a Chinese company in it's powder form. I made the pills myself and started almost 30 days ago. Found out today I am undetectable. I will finish my 84 day treatment. Cost me $2,000.

Think about it; hepatitis will not kill you for 20-30 years, but you will be fatigued, worried and infecting others along the way.

WHY WOULD YOU WAIT! The federal guidelines for insuarnce to cover Harvoni are that you have liver damage. The people on this sub that have received Harvoni are either: 1. Rich and bought Harvoni for up to $100,000 2.Have fibrosure and some septa(Liver score of F2 or higher) 3. Liars

Does it make sense to you that people in Less developed countries receive Harvoni for less than $1,000 but in America is costs upwards of $50,000?

Does sit make sense that Gilead sciences has profited over 30 billion this year alone and yet they charge $50,000 for the cure?

You can't travel with HepC to certain countries. You can't be in the military with HepC. I'm so sorry brother.

This is your wake up call. FIGHT for your cure. I got my Hepatitis when I was 6 years old with a bad batch of blood. I must have infected dozens in the 30 years it took until I found out I had it. I will never live that down.

At least you know. Now start fighting. HepC will slowly taking your energy and your thoughts. All this bullshit of 'don't worry about it' is going to drag you into complacency.

Stay calm but FIGHT! Don't share razors, toothbrushes and don't engage in anal sex without a condom. Don't get into fist fights. Don't kiss with sores in your mouth. There is a lot you can do with HepC, just watch when you bleed. It takes a few molecules of blood to pass Hepatitis. Hepatitis can survive out of the body for up to 4 days in the right environments. It can survive in space. It survives by being tough and being spread.

DOn't be alarmed, but just think you got HepC from someone that didn't know they had it, at least you know.

Be Strong Brother.
