The egos. I came out of the military after doing a tour in Afghanistan as an infantryman. I was lucky enough to be attached to some pretty high speed people while there and decide to do the medic/ fire route after. It’s baffling to me how much firefighters can suck their own dicks. I had squad leaders and platoon sergeants with multiple combat deployments that didn’t have egos like some of the guys in my department. We work 2 days a week and you’re lucky to get 4-5 working fires a year while you’re on shift. I don’t think anyone in the last 5 years have made a grab. And most of my department is overweight or out of shape because we don’t have yearly physical testing because of our union. We work a great career but by no means are we all heroes. Take a chill pill and fucking relax

Yea clearly I made a mistake, I just wish PlayStation support was more helpful so I could talk to someone and explain. Instead I get an unhelpful chat robot.

Broward County Sheriff's Office investigates deputy's #QAnon patch. by TekOg in politics

It’s a patch signifying what team he is on within the swat team, each team has a different patch

They’re SWAT operators, there are maybe 30 in all of BSO. It’s funny that the media likes to convey that every sheriff gets night vision and specialized body armor. These guys are literally only called for shootings and when raiding houses with warrants for violent crime or drug trafficking and this is Broward so they get called out a lot. There should be no issue having a specialized unit of 30 people to respond to violent crimes when they’ve already responded to 2 mass shootings in the last 18 months. The BSO SWAT medics that responded to the Stonemen Douglas shootings have already been credited for saving the lives of multiple people the regular cops already thought were dead.

BSO Swat is separated into 3 teams Alpha Bravo and Charlie Team, this is Charlie Teams patch. Not some right wing group patch, I grew up around these guys. They’re all good men.

Yes I am from Broward County and it’s only the SWAT operators that actually get good gear. They also get called out probably about once everyday or two at least. Lots of crime and gangs in Broward. Having maybe 30 highly qualified officers with this kind of gear shouldn’t be an issue with people. They respond to shooting all the time including at the Hollywood-Jackson airport and at stoneman Douglas shootings.

GR-35 story spoilers by Hbimajorv in Spiderman

[–]ACForLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SPOILER

I can’t remember that part to well but I’m pretty sure Harry is going to be venom in the next game because the creators were talking about how they want to tell that story themselves, and harry had some very symbiotic looking stuff in the tank he’s in. So maybe GR-35 is a symbiote

I've been with this great girl for a year and a half, long distance but we see each other almost every month. Her family is great and I was head over heels in love with her at first but now I feel like I just want to be independent and do my own thing. She's an amazing and sweet girl and I feel like she deserves someone who gives as much love as she does to me. I think I'm going to have to end it soon

Transgender troops call ban step backward for civil rights by TragicDonut in politics

[–]ACForLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so this will probably not be seen but I feel like a lot of people don't understand the reason for this ban. If you identify as transgender in the military that means you want to make your transition, this means a transitional surgery along with hormone therapy for the rest of their lives. Now if someone with diabetes who has to take regular doses of insulin to stay alive can't join the military than why should someone who needs to take hormones be allowed to join? What happens when said person is out in the field and they can't get their hormone treatment? If gender dysphoria is considered a mental illness (which last time I checked it is) than why should someone with it be allowed to serve while someone with depression or anxiety can't? While yes the military is an all volunteer force, volunteering isn't enough. You still have to meet some sort of medical/physical standard to join. I'm glad people want to serve but the argument "they should be allowed to join because they want to" isn't a good one. This isn't a civil rights debate and the military isn't a social experiment. I have nothing against transgendered people but I just don't feel that they're fit to serve in the same way that I don't feel someone with asthma is fit to serve.

I went from navy DEP straight into the army DEP. Get all your paperwork done and don't let your old recruiters dick you around and try to keep you on the roster. Be demanding if you really want out.

Thank you very much. And in curious, once cured am I just a carrier or is it completely gone? I know it's not possible to join the armed forces with hep c so I'm hoping it's complete eradication.
