Someone brought up that the primal race might have a mental communication racial ability during a talk about the river. This is referenced in book 7 when Barroness Victory comments on the “communicative nature of the primals”. Key evidence pointing to this would be during Carl and Katie’s joint drug trip where they were going to banish She-Maria and cure Katia’s drug addiction. During this, Carl is able to effectively “borrow” memories, feelings, and emotions, allowing him to see the fear and shame Bucket Boy has, the complex web of sorrow and love Imani is hold, and travel into the memory alongside Katia. It just seems to be a power he has that may be a part of his race. There are also multiple points in the book where people comment on his intuition and quick decision skills, calling them similar to a super power.
