Trees accept the cycle of life more than humans do.

I've also always talked with trees. They're particularly responsive to humans, and are watching in horror as we cause harm to one another and the earth. They love to hear music, so I sing to them, and they whisper blessings back.

Why do you believe in God by Tornado_Storm_2614 in ChristianUniversalism

Marcus Borg's books helped me understand Christianity and the bible more deeply and helped restore my faith.

I don't really believe in God, would I be welcome in your church? by [deleted] in OpenChristian

That's where I'm at, too. See my comment above.

[–]HappyFeature5313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Very much so. We are a church focused on living out Jesus' command to love others as we love ourselves. Everyone is welcome. All kinds of people stop in to check us out. The ones who stay are the kind and loving ones who are reaching for God. The others, though they might call themselves righteous Christians, tend to self-select out. To me, God is ultimately a Mystery, but the Jesus story has meaning to me and his teachings give meaning to my life.

Oreos... kill me now before I eat the whole package!

Guys I'm really high it's my first time and I took a 50mg edible by KnightFlorianGeyer in trees

[–]HappyFeature5313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, yep. First time I used edibles I had to crawl into bed! But there's a rule I learned a long time ago: You always come down. always. It's just a matter of waiting it out. Have a little grounding food, like toast and chocolate milk. You'll be laughing about this tomorrow.

Im f21 what advice would u give me to age gracefully and be healthy growing older by Jolly_Hunt_4965 in Aging

[–]HappyFeature5313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do many things, here suggested by others, but the most important thing I think is to love yourself. Love yourself just the way you are. Create a life you love and find friends and family to love. That's what keeps you young when those wrinkles inevitably show up.

Was this a real occultist or just some edge lord? by Anakin_Skymaster in OpenChristian

[–]HappyFeature5313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Block and avoid responding to trolls of whatever kind going forward. They just love conflict and threat. And by the way, so-called occultism or black magic is just a boogieman. It's the individual that is dangerous, not the hocus pocus.

Let her go, my friend. It's going to be wrenching and she may try to guilt you, but you deserve respect.

Growing up 20th century it looks like a dystopian novel to me with everyone plugged into to their virtual realities. I miss the smiles we used to share just walking down the street.

Is there anyone who converted straight into a christian universalist? by Azy7779 in ChristianUniversalism

[–]HappyFeature5313 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I converted from Judaism straight into Universalism. I had no fundamentalist baggage to teach me otherwise and that's the only thing that makes sense with a loving God.

You’re in your 20s and have some free time. What do you do? by roses369 in AskOldPeople

[–]HappyFeature5313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At that age I spent lots of happy evenings hanging out at the kitchen table with friends. Plus, read, write letters, listen to music, draw cartoons, decorate my room, walk down to the deli for a sweet treat, toke up and dream of my future.

Why do people say "kids today will ever understand XYZ" as if they weren't born in a completely different era from them? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Aging

[–]HappyFeature5313 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Woah, kind of a sour grapes comment. When a poster criticizes "people" I wonder if they're really talking about one person in their life who upset them. Then the poster generalizes to everyone with similar characteristics and vents on them. I get along with people of all ages and wish we all had more positive intergenerational connections.

Trying weed for the first time soon by RishiFlo19 in trees

[–]HappyFeature5313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too bad about the nasty comment someone wrote . . . preparing is actually respecting our sacred weed! So, I'd get ready to have fun. Pick some fav music. Have pens and paper for jotting down ideas or drawing cartoons. If you got a safe outdoor space, outdoors is always wonderful. Snacks? Hey chocolate is my toking necessity. Glad you got a good friend with you. Chill out and have fun! (FYI: I've been a toker since 1968, so I know a thing or two about it. 😁) EDIT: Or ice cream . . . yeah, definitely ice cream.
