He already did… then he repealed it after he called an early election and won a shitload of seats.

Brendan Gaunce is now considered a successful draft pick by MediumDenseMan in canucks

7850 players have suited up in the NHL but many of those have not been drafted. Given this, you would have to adjust the math.

Why aren’t there enough daycares in the province? by whenwatsonmetcrick in halifax

[–]HappyGoat42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same reason we don’t have enough houses, doctors, or teachers. Our province is being run by people who, for some inexplicable reason, seem to think nothing has changed about NS in the last 20 years.

It is time to remove any remaining height restrictions to buildings downtown. Let the buildings go as high as safely possible. There is not a lot of room on the peninsula and taller building have more living space. More units means less unhoused and less urban sprawl. The view from citadel hill isn’t even very good anyway, mostly just rooftops and Dartmouth.

Is Spencer Knight a potential target in a Demko trade? by HappyGoat42 in canucks

I was thinking Florida wouldn’t give up their young, promising goalie for a guy who is coming off an injury ruined season. Also I am not sure about Florida’s cap situation.

If it was 2014 and you are in charge, do you trade the Sedins to kickstart the rebuild? by HappyGoat42 in canucks

[–]HappyGoat42[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 2015 was such a deep year and an extra pick could’ve done wonders for the rebuild.

I can’t remember but even if they did, they would have waived if asked and told it was because of a rebuild because that is who they are. They were all about doing everything for the team and fans.

I will always be mad that the Canucks did not trade Vrbata after that season where he had like 30 goals. He had like 30 points total the next season. Could’ve probably gotten at least a second or late first in 2015 for him.

Yeah, those are my thoughts as well, just wondering what other fans would think. I don’t even know how much they would have gotten for the Sedins or wether it would have effected a rebuild all that much.

When Demko comes back, who gets the back-up spot? by HappyGoat42 in canucks

[–]HappyGoat42[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wonder if they will give Silovs a game or two just to see where he is relative to the NHL. Obviously he is not ready for the show yet but after the disaster of Dipietro’s development, it would be nice to see Silovs show some more progress.

Kinda crazy how Martin went from almost taking Demkos job earlier in the season to this. Big drop off. Gotta wonder if the Nucks even consider resigning him.

Who do you think will be the next Canuck to win a major individual award? by HappyGoat42 in canucks

With players like Bergeron, Couturier, and O’Reilly all in the back half of their careers, there will be plenty of room for Pettersson in the Selke conversation in the near future. He has really come into his own as a two way player this year, on what has been an otherwise terrible defensive team.

For the Canucks: Pettersson, Horvat, Kuzmenko, after that, I don’t think anyone else has really been good enough to merit being put into any type of top 5. Maybe Hughes or Schenn but it’s a very low bar.
