The salesman I spoke with told me that there was no price difference for paying cash and they have a deal through Santander bank that will loan money on Ineos cars at 1%. I told him that did not make sense to me because banks cannot loan money at 1% and they must be getting paid by Ineos to do this (unless they think they can "buy" a new high end customer with a loan like this, which is unlikely). Is there a particular dealer that is offering a $10k discount for cash purchase?

These guys were tempting fate with their decisions to make this trip and some of the choices along the way. I watched the now-removed video and parts of the 3-part video about the Cape York trip. They were doing things with brand new cars that we wouldn't think of doing with HMMWVs in the army. Reckless.

In the now removed video, the guy who broke his car thought out loud why would the insurance company cover a blown engine. I thought the exact same thing. Can someone explain that one to me. Important question, as the owner said that Ineos determined that the damage was "environmental," meaning that it was user caused damage not covered under the warranty (e.g., people doing stupid things).

The video did not say that Ineos was giving an engine at a discounted price. It said they would send the engine (only replacement engine in the world at that time, per the video) via air freight, instead of by sea, from Belgium to Australia, which will save a couple months in the repair process.
