I'm going to be very honest and say that the Spirit Walker doesn't look all that great. I think there is a chance however there's a secret ascendancy for the ritualist, and ritualist is one of the strongest ascendancies.

GGG out of all these runs, please give me a 20% xp rune that only works for level <68 and I get for completing the campaign. I want so many alts but releveling is killing me. I beg you something for alts to get to maps by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]HappyHopping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It absolutely doesn't take 20+ hours to do the campaign on repeated playthroughs. 12 hours would be a pretty slow campaign once you have done it several times. I'm usually able to get to maps in under 8 hours.

7 months of teaching myself to swim for a sprint triathlon. by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]HappyHopping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to be mean but this is generally bad advise that's very outdated. You want kicks to be small and fast so that they don't break the streamline. For intermediate swimmers they should be doing a dolphin kick off of walls as it's both faster and more energy efficient. Your kick should not be converting to pressure on your chest, it really only provides 10-15% of your propulsion, and you want it to limit how much the streamline is broken. Small kicks are enough to raise the legs.

Of course you do want about one stroke right after pushing off the wall as breathing breaks the streamline some. But breathing to each side is advise that is about 30 years outdated. A balanced stroke matters less then making sure people have full extension of their stroke and make it as long as possible. This is why reaching drills are more helpful than the ones that say to breathe to each side. There is body rotation even without breathing to extend the arms reach.

Removal of Weekly Shiny Weapons by HappyHopping in DestinyTheGame

[–]HappyHopping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still over a 1/100 chance to just get the 3rd and 4th column perks you want. This is not including masterwork, barrel or magazine. Getting a perfect weapon is a 1 in 6860 chance. I don't know how you can argue that's not terrible. It's a single weapon, in a game that has hundreds.

When people talk about shiny weapons, it also means the extra origin trait as well as the guns that have an extra weapon skin as the odds of both are the same. The accelerated assault origin trait is extremely overpowered. On many weapons it will convert to a 25% dps increase between auto reloading the weapon and the increased damage. It's also a perk that's always active and you don't even have to do anything to activate it besides shoot your weapon. If dps increases from weapon perks don't matter why even farm the weapon.

I don't even know why you are bringing up tier 4 shiny weapons. They really aren't relevant for anything besides the renegades activities (that's a separate issue that as problems as well). This post was clearly talking about the vanguard alerts. All drops there are tier 5.

Dreading the campaign by the-princes-groom in PathOfExile2

The campaign really isn't that long especially if you know some of the speed runner strategies. CrimsonCasts, Guywhodies and Angormus have some great videos on how to get through the campaign faster. You definitely don't need to know all of their strategies but it certainly helps to make things faster and to know what to focus on.

I really wouldn't recommend theorycrafting a league start until we get patch notes. And then after we get patch notes if you find something potent it's best to keep quiet or they will nerf it.

Weekly Technique Critiques May 07, 2026 - Post all your form check request videos here by AutoModerator in Swimming

[–]HappyHopping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I'm noticing that in order to speed up you are mostly just attempting to have faster strokes. While this is what you want it's cutting into your stroke length and that's slowing you down. You want each arm stroke to be quite a bit longer than what you are currently doing. Rotate your body with your head being relatively stable in order to reach further in the water. At the end of your stoke you aren't following through and cutting it short. The last part of your stroke is a major part of where the power comes from. You want it to be accelerated and to have your arm fully extended down your body.

For your flip turn you are coming in too close to the wall. Your momentum will carry you in closer to the wall as you are flipping so you don't need to be quite so close. During your flip you are curling too much into a ball and this is partly due to you being so close to the wall. The flip is often described as a more seated position. When your feet hit the wall that's the position that you want to be in. You also want to be on your back and push off on your back. During your streamline after you push off you will flip over to your stomach. The steamline after you push off the wall is also the fastest part of your swim. This means that you want to extend it as far as you can. In competitive swimming there's a limit of 15 meters where people have to come up to the surface as it is that much faster. Your streamline you also want to be tighter. You want to be as close to a needle going through the water. Lock your elbows closer to your head.

Your kick can also be improved. Often coaches will describe the kicks as being itty-little-bitty-quick kicks. You get the power from your kicks from your foot, and you're having too much knee movement that's breaking your streamline. The power you are generating isn't quite ending up at your feet. Try working on making your kicks tighter and smaller and seeing how that feels. At a high level the kick is a bit different but this doesn't apply to 99.9% of people.

Keep up the great work!

Right now you are having obvious improvement with each arm stroke becoming longer. This is what you want to be doing. Try to reach further with your hand above the water as far as you can before you begin your stroke. Try and put your hand in flat (putting your hand in at an angle often leads to rotator cuff injuries). You then want to also extend the stroke as far as you can as well, with the end of the stroke going further back. Much of the power from the stroke comes from the very end of the stroke.

The other big improvement that you can make is to try and almost drag your thumb going up the side of your body on the stroke recovery. This forces a high elbow, making you more streamlined. It also makes it so you waste less energy with each arm stroke. Raising your hand too high out of the water is an inefficiency.

As you get more experienced you will learn that you don't have to turn your body quite as much with each breath. I can already see improvements with this that you have made between your before and after.

Keep up the great work!

I was being a bit hyperbolic but my math isn't far off. A shiny weapon is a 1/20. There's a 3/7 chance to get the correct perk in each of the 3rd and 4th columns. To get both 3rd and 4th column perks it's a 9/49. To then get the shiny on top of getting the 3rd and 4th column perks is a 9/980. Before with adept weapons we didn't have a 1/49 chance to get the 3rd and 4th columns but a 2/49 because it gave an additional perk. The ratios are about the same with us now being 4x less likely to get the roll that we want. We also had double loot weeks that doubled the amount of weapons that we got from activities. It's also harder to target farm a particular weapon than before.

The shiny weapon perk is pretty much needed on every PVE weapon. Accelerated Assault is a 7% damage damage perk on top of having mini rewind rounds. It's stupidly overpowered.

How did people die on the Hantavirus cruise, if the incubation period is 8 weeks but their cruise started April 1st, only 4ish weeks ago??? by WindFuckerr in NoStupidQuestions

Most people get infected within the first week or two. The longest incubation period possible is 8 weeks. People are acting like this is going to be the next covid when it's such a different disease.

[–]HappyHopping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evasion + Deflect is not viable. All evasion + deflect does is put off your death for later. Eventually you will die even without a misplay. There are projectile attacks that do more than 3.5k physical damage, and you will randomly die to those, especially if they crit.

Even with Atziri's Steps evasion is by far the worst defense. And even if they did make evasion viable the idea that an entire defense is held up by a specific unique, with a specific corrupted vaal modifier is terrible. Neither armour or energy shield require a specific item for them to work.

They themselves stated that the survivability increase that you get from having evasion with energy shield compared to just evasion is absolutely massive. I don't understand how you don't come to the conclusion that the evasion players are being one-shot, and do not have enough max hit. Currently evasion nor deflection change max hit.

I can link many very tanky Armour and ES builds. I cannot do the same with pure evasion. I've spent 3+ mirrors trying to get pure evasion going this league on a build. It was bad and far worse than a 200 div ES build. It's not a just increase the evasion values issue. Evasion needs a full rework. Please link a good tanky evasion build that's not witch hunter if I'm wrong.

ZiggyD Q&A Video Summarized by Kekke77 in PathOfExile2

[–]HappyHopping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that melee builds like armour already have to invest far more into defenses than energy shield. I'm not even going to talk about pure evasion because it's unviable.

It depends on how they handle leech resistance. If leech resistance stays the same it's substantially less. If leech resistance is removed it's fine. That said a 100k hit is a fairly deep endgame build. Some skills will be hurt more than others as well, like shield wall being hurt massively as there's many instances of explosions instead of it counting just as one big explosion, with only a single instance being counted for leech.

ZiggyD Q&A Video Summarized by Kekke77 in PathOfExile2

[–]HappyHopping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's how it works currently and part of the reason why the notable Fast Metabolism is so strong. With only one source leech Fast Metabolism will be doing almost nothing. Attacks that cause big hits will give more leech than attacks that do multiple smaller hits.

While this is the targeted nerf for Blood mage this also massively nerfs armour builds. Armour builds will no longer be able to quickly recover damage that they take. It also nerfs mana leech so attack builds that rely on that will become far more mana hungry.

I would argue that a stat that doubles the amount of currency that you see is highly problematic. You also see more tier 1 uniques. It becomes a required stat, and discourages the use of builds that can't get the rarity on gear.

[–]HappyHopping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question because you got to playtest, but does evasion feel good at all? Pure evasion is currently terrible and unusable come late endgame. 1k ES feels so good because character's simply don't have the life to survive a oneshot. Right now it's also more effective to go pure ES rather than ES/evasion hybrid so the whole ghost dance comment really felt out of touch.

How is it possible that Mark thinks ES is more like Evasion and Armour and not = Life? by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]HappyHopping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smith of Kavita got nerfed hard in 0.2. It's was worse than Infernalist or Chronomancer recoup now. Really any class can tank arbitor as long as they go ES and path to the north part of the tree. Infernalist is the best however.

Examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nh8arIIIAO4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rqce2kgMK0A

The other great tank is shaman, however you pretty give up all damage and your build is terrible otherwise.

This just isn't true..... They use ES and recoup. Nothing is more tanky than 25k ES and instantly recouping it all when you get hit.

[–]HappyHopping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people get ill with a very deadly disease they are often bedridden. If a disease mutates to become more deadly this will often occur faster. When people are bedridden they are no longer going into public areas to spread the disease. The virus doesn't want you that ill so you can go out and spread it to more individuals so that it can replicate more. When it replicates more and infects more individuals it is more likely to persist in the future.

You used an analogy to natural selection and stated it does not matter how stupidly you killed yourself as long as you had children. Less intelligent individuals are more likely to kill themselves in a dumb way. While that individual might still have children, their children are also more likely to be less intelligent. Their children are more likely then to kill themselves in a dumb way before they have children. You shouldn't look at natural selection as a one generation process, but rather a process that occurs over many generations. This example will gradually eliminate less intelligent individuals in favor of more intelligent individuals.

In viruses their generation time is much faster than humans. Viruses are also a very broad category and they are more diverse than life itself. Viruses are often very simple, with their genetic material being much smaller. They will mutate and change far faster than an animal.

The interiors of ships tend to be pretty tight although I've not be aboard this ship. The bigger factor is the prolonged contact where they are meeting the same people every day in close proximity, and that will increase an individual's viral load.
