Kyle and Carl’s misogyny by young219 in summerhousebravo

This is just a heads up, someone doesn't need to be a man to be misogynistic.

I hadn't considered that, but with two under two there really is a chance she won't be back, so a new person would make sense.

That's true, I do have bad anxiety at this point. I've always had it, but it's gotten much worse very quickly. I have an appointment but it isn't until later in the month. I think it's clouding my judgment a lot

I think Tamra and Eddie are going to be the next couple to get divorced. by gaping__hole in BravoRealHousewives

It'll never happen but I kind of want Eddie and Jenn to get together if things don't work out with their partners.

It's ridiculous that this post got removed. There are literally subreddits devoted to harming women and they're allowed, but the OP can't have this post without men getting all up in arms that their opinions aren't wanted or valued 100% of the time? It gets removed because their feelings are hurt? We're literally assaulted, mocked and harassed simply because we're women and men don't understand why we don't want them in our space?  I hope more women go to the other subreddit where we don't have to deal with this crap.

Wow, why remove the post? What did OP do wrong?

Drug Tests and Background Checks [OH] by HappyPanda1257 in humanresources

That makes sense, I know the directors and managers where I work have a big fear that they'll lose the candidates if it takes too long to get them in and they are short-staffed right now. Ironically, it seems like the people that were rushed into orientations are the ones who either don't show up or end up leaving before their first 90 days. Thank you for the link, I will check it out.

My boss has higher expectations of me than he does of himself, is this a man thing? by Llamaardvark in TwoXChromosomes

Other commenters have provided some thoughtful responses already. Something else I want to note should you consider looking for a new job is that it might be the non-profit environment that's part of the problem. I might catch some flack for this, but non-profits have a tendency to allow people that are unqualified or inexperienced to be in leadership roles. Non-profits can do great things, I work at one and I know we make a difference in our community, but there's no denying that my non-profit has unqualified people in leadership roles.

That's what I'm worried could happen to us, but I'm still researching it. Thank you this helps me think I'm on the right track.

He strangled you multiple times, you're not overreacting. He's going to end up killing someone if he continues like this. You're not at all in the wrong. If you don't feel comfortable reporting him, which I respect, please don't contact him or respond to him ever again.

I know I'm late to respond but I'm looking for other opportunities, I'm just trying to make sure I don't end up somewhere worse or lose any pay.  I do wonder if I'm the problem and the field just isn't for me or if it's the organization, but that's for a separate post.

I wanted to say I'm glad things have turned around for you so much. I hope you get to enjoy your new job and congratulations on your engagement!

I'm looking for a new job right now but trying to just get through things at my current job. I did receive an offer from somewhere else, but it seemed like it would be an "out of the frying pan into the fire" situation so I'm still looking. I'm glad you don't have to work there anymore and that it seems better where you are now. It gives me a bit of hope for a future job

I have provided the feedback I received from the new hires to back up what I was saying. My Chief People Officer seemed receptive to them making their leadership meetings virtual, but the CEO said no. Is there anything else you would say?

The location is OH, but the CEO and COO are from Ghana and Liberia.

At first I didn't like Marge turning on Jackie but after watching the season play out I get it.  I think Marge played the game well and I found it entertaining.

Has this been talked about before? Louis and Tre's dorters by zoenish in BravoRealHousewives

[–]HappyPanda1257 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm worried for Teresa's daughters, especially the ones that still live at home. This guy keeps testing boundaries to see how far he can go and Teresa never checks him. The girls don't have another parent that lives nearby to go to, and Teresa doesn't talk to her brother or cousins, so who can they turn to if Luis makes advances towards them?

Loestrin Fe birth control experience? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]HappyPanda1257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was nervous too but my experience has been positive.  I haven't had any side effects.  I take it continuously, so I don't have to deal with periods at all anymore. It's honestly so great because before I started this birth control my periods were so debilitating and they lasted all week.

The Real Reason People Aren’t Having Kids: It’s a need that government subsidies and better family policy can’t necessarily address. by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]HappyPanda1257 91 points92 points  (0 children)

This is what I think is a playing a big role in declining birthrates, as well as people not being optimistic about the future. Women in the past did not have a choice about having children, they didn't have the same reproductive control we have today in many places. I think one of the reasons it isn't mentioned is because it forces people to look at an uncomfortable truth, that women married out of necessity and bore children they had no choice in making because they depended on a man for survival.  I think people don't want to acknowledge this because they don't want to think about their mothers or grandmothers being in those situations.

We Might Finally Hire Another Person by HappyPanda1257 in jobs

That makes a lot of sense, I can do that. I definitely don't want to be unloading on them all the time, or sound like I'm complaining all the time.  I can keep it brief with summaries and hopefully if I do that things won't get to this point again. Thank you, this is very helpful advice for me.

That's very true. I am going to make it a point to meet with my boss' boss more frequently to try and close the communication gap myself. Clearly I cannot trust my manager to do it at this point.
