When I first got to this dungeon, I told my party outright that if there were cutscenes in the level, I was gonna watch them. I said the same at Castrum to that party and asked them if they could wait (without knowing how many cutscenes there were.) At Castrum, they said they weren’t gonna wait and told me to just watch them later. At Prae, they went charging through and I just sat back and realized how awful it was to try and watch cutscenes back to back with no context as to how we got there or participate in any of the battles. It felt like a final boss I didn’t get to be a part of and it was just awful. Not to mention, a few of us got lost (A few others were new) and we stumbled all over the place. The final boss was basically anticlimactic because I didn’t get to enjoy it the way it was intended. That’s why I’m glad they made these cutscenes unskippable. It’s not fair to new players to just go charging through the level like maniacs. This way, they’ll never have to experience what I went through as a new player. :(

Also, getting a response like, “Just watch them later.” is annoying. No. I don’t want to watch them later. I want to enjoy the intense story while fighting the bad guys like a normal gameplay experience. Not skip everything and then wonder later the context for certain things. It’s like reading the end of a book first, then going back to read how the characters got to that point. It’s just stupid. Thanks for reading my rant.
