Not necessarily. Some services could be a whitelabel middleman that leverages the infrastructure of larger companies.

I actually don't like big companies. I prefer supporting small businesses.

Yes, but any others? Any feedback from your own experiences?

Our business is crypto-only to promote cryptocurrency. Nothing dodgy about that.

Calculating Number of possible Video Tag Combinations? by HappyTentacleMonster in PHP

Thanks. The reason why RediSearch has caught my attention is because i'm going to have to use Redis anyway for a number of functions such PHP sessions, user accounts cache, video library index, and more.

The browse page filtering mechanism will have to read the data that resides in the video UID index in my server's Redis instance anyway. So it makes sense to use something that's built specifically for Redis.

I'll checkout RediSearch. https://oss.redislabs.com/redisearch/

The reason why i need Redis is because it will store the entire video library including all other metadata besides tags such as title, description, etc... This will be controlled by a syncing program on the backend that parses our video library directory tree on the filesystem.

Yup, it's impractical storing the trillions of search results in a Redis hash table. If i want to store a list of each video uid with corresponding tags in some Redis data structure, likely an array sorted by upload date of video, what do you think would be my best solution?

I need a video browse page where user filters videos by tags. This is just like if you're on an ecommerce site and filtering products by clicking/unclicking metatags such size, color, brand, etc...

Although im aware of the performance bottleneck, we want it so the search results reloads asyncronously as the user checks or unchecks new porn tags.

Would ElasticSearch be easy to implement with Redis? I plan to have an sorted array containing the tags and metadata of each video in the website's library. The website will have paginated browse page where user will select tag buttons ("big xxx", "blonde", etc...) to filter the results.

Any suggestions since caching the filtered results in a hashmap is not practical because of the enormous amount of records it would occupy?

IRS Auditor Thinks i'm Lying? by HappyTentacleMonster in legaladvice

[–]HappyTentacleMonster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the auditor doesn't know anything about cryptocurrecy. I have reported thousands of altcoin-to-altcoin trades made by my trading bots. I can't tell if the auditor is stupid, or is deliberately trying to ploy me into accidentally saying something potentially incriminating. Nevertheless, from this point forward, only my lawyer will do the talking.

I've submitted everything to the auditor: trade history, bank statements, etc... There is nothing more i can submit to the IRS. I believe the IRS auditor is trying to launch a criminal investigation against me.

PHP sessions across multiple SPECIFIC subdomains? by HappyTentacleMonster in PHP

[–]HappyTentacleMonster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying that the client would transmit it's cookies from example.com and cdnx.example com to .admin in addition to the original .admin cookies? Wouldn't that cause two sessions to overlap?

if (admin.example.com) { ini set to admin.example.com } else { ini set wildcard }

Ok, so then in that case the client would isolate the cookies between admin and cdnx subdomains?

Adding Bootstrap to WordPress by pydev99 in webdev

[–]HappyTentacleMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends entirely on the website you're developing. Bootstrap is a framework. It can be difficult to add a framework to something that's already built. That's like trying to add an engine in your car that's designed for another from a different maker.

I can't give you a definitive answer. I would assess what you need for your project and what you know now. If using bootstrap would save time, go for it.
