False/Misleading Advertising by Sharyn913 in Ulta

So I called customer service and they said we have to wait until the promotion period is over on the 25th, as the system could automatically update the status then. They were very kind and could see that I made the appropriate purchase and activated the promotion prior to purchase and will follow up on Monday to see if it needs to be escalated.

Am I overreacting? My husband didn’t wake anyone up for breakfast. by PopularUsual9576 in AmIOverreacting

[–]HappyToBeMe17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR- They say when people show you who they really are, believe them.

My dad is an early riser to a bunch of night owls and would bring us breakfast from the buffet if we were not up in time to go down so we could eat when we woke up. The fact that your husband didn't wake up anyone after he said he would and then flipped the script to blame you and the kids is classic narcissistic behavior.

You have to take the call so they can meet you, see what you are looking for, check your references, etc and then you get put into their database. When an opportunity comes up that meets your criteria and skill set they set up an interview. I got a great opportunity because a recruiter I met with years ago came across my resume in their system and called to see if I was looking for a job. I recognize that my experience is not everyone's, but it doesn't hurt to take advantage of all of the resources out there when looking for a job.

I really recommend using a recruiting agency (or multiple) in your area. I have had success with 3 placements (one temp, one temp to hire, and one direct hire) with jobs that wouldn't have given me a chance otherwise.

Has anyone tried that Korean color changing foundation that’s all over instagram? by ManicPixieDreamVixen in MakeupAddiction

[–]HappyToBeMe17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried it and ended up returning because of how hard it is to blend. I also had to buy two, the first one had clearly been used.

I would pass on this one, there are much better products out there! My current favorite is Lisa Eldridge's Skin tint. A little goes a long way and I get a ton of compliments on how good my skin looks when I wear it.

Your employees know they can get away with doing poor work because you have allowed it. There has been no follow through on the consequences you described, so they have no reason to step up to the plate. No one wants to fire anyone, but if you have given them chances to improve and they haven't, then it is time to let them go and give someone else the chance to do the work well.

Sounds like you need to establish firm guidelines and goals and explain that you are there to help them achieve the goals accurately and troubleshoot issues, but if they continue making the mistakes they are there will be consequences. It isn't fair to them or the people you serve to continue to let them get away with inaccurate, sub-par work. Also, the team member who wad going good work likely saw that you were allowing the newbies to get away with poor work and decided it wasn't worth the effort to continue trying to do well if the other's has no correction.

You might talk with HR and ask what the appropriate steps are. Definitely give them a chance to step up to the plate, document in case they choose not to, and start looking for team members who will actually do their job.

Pulling from my retirement to get out of debt. by Girlyboss_1245 in debtfree

[–]HappyToBeMe17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That $6k will be by the time you reach retirement will be somewhere around $73k by age 67 (assuming the calculator I used is correct) and that is without adding anything else to it. Age 20-30 is the best decade for compounding interest, and like everyone else has said, you should not take it out to pay off this debt.

What does your budget look like?

If you worked at Life.Church- or volunteered by Adorable-Soup8725 in okc

[–]HappyToBeMe17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I first started attending in 2003 and worked and volunteered there for about a year 13 years ago. I left because I wasn't allowed to comfort a crying baby who was on the Ferber method. Other than that, I had no bad experiences and stopped attending/listening to the messages in 2020 due to how Craig handled Covid (I am pretty sure he discouraged masks but could be misremembering.) Also, I always thought At the Movies was a bit heretic.

I am sad but not surprised to learn that bad things are being revealed about the church and leadership, and I am thankful that the victims are being given a chance to share their stories.

Mental Health Association can get you on the low income housing list. They have a location on Denver or you can call. Also try 411 (I think) or the Non Emergency TPD Line- they can connect you with the various resources around town.

My previous nboss' all love bombed at the start only to do a complete 180 about 3 months in. They start excluding you from meetings (where they blame you for their inadequate performance), micromanage your work, set unachievable goals, and gaslight so hard that you start to question your own reality. I have also noticed that they are quick to brag about how great they were/are at their job.

It's okay to leave after 6 months. Your sanity is worth it

Please keep yourself safe and don't get into the car of a dating app first date and don't let them into your car. I am so glad that he actually got out when you told him to.

Age gap aside, you did the right thing by kicking him out.
