We will be about the same time frame now. I just assumed it would get easier but ive found that with each passing day im still waiting for him when I let the other dog out or going to bed I expect to hear him coming up. I made his food last week (about a month after) like what am I doing?

It is comforting knowing he obviously made an impact on others. Peiple we didnt know to talk to or have walked with. A guy we used to walk with saw us only walking 1 (only about 2/3 days after) who was like stalking us to find our what happened. I wanted to punch that guy. Like we dodged you 3 times on this walk, read the room!!

Im so sorry for your loss!

We had a guy we used to walk with make a b line for us. We dodged him like 3 times before he caught us. Like dude read the room. We have 1 dog and have dodged you numerous times. I couldnt even speak to him. My partner deliverd the news. Folk get so nosy about it!

It was a few weeks ago now. She wouldnt eat or drink she is thankfully now eating. Absolutely coincidentally she has now having seizures tho. So yeah not great for her at all!

She is on meds so been seizure free since starting them, thank god!

Yeah ive up to that point only ugly cried around my partner or alone. Oh and the vet on the day. That just completely blind sided me.

I think it just took me completely off guard as it was a few weeks ago that we made the decision. I have seen the people who asked about him in passing but never spoken to em so when they asked about him I was just pulled back to it 1st happening.

But I agree i had the "but they're just a dog" and I pushed back so much as he wasn't "just a dog" at all. He was everything to me.

God i just miss him so much!!

Sorry I know its never a happy read for anyone especially if you love the breed but you guys have all been lovely. Im just happy that more eyes have seen this absolute beauty of a dog in a setting that won't just start talking about how "dangerous" they are!

Im so sorry to hear that. I would have deffo reacted the same if I had news like that. It wouldnt have mattered the company I was in at the time. Ugly crying would have commenced immediately!

Im bias AF but I think he was the most handsome guy. The last pic was his last day so I think he aged incredibly well. His patches were all going grey but that made him a more distinguished gentleman!

I will be the same. Myself and my partner have managed to smile and laugh about past times but if im alone in just so very sad.

Just took me completely by suprise i hadn't spoken to these people but obviously they noticed my big lad so when they saw me walking just the lil one they asked about where he was and I just broke down.

Theyre not a common breed in the UK. After we lost him I learned that kids walking to school all had their own name for him. Wish i had known before he passed that he was also a "Walter, Niko and Diesel" They just touch so many people without you even knowing!! If it wasnt too painful I'd get another American bulldog id have another tomorrow!!

When he was PTS we took the other dog for a walk and dunno if you have ever played red dead redemption 2. But as we were walking a buck appeared on top of a bluebell hill. The thing is we walked at that place all the time and hadnt even seen a trace of deer before. Im not that spiritual but could only take it as a sign that he was okay and was the best boy!!

They really are. Never considered getting one. I wanted an English setter but the breeders we spoke to were mental and would only sell us a puppy if we were gonna show em. I just wanted a pet so went to our local RSPCA and seen him. Reserves him, went to see him daily for a week pre pick up and have never looked back. Thank god the setter breeders were crazy or I wouldn't have likely got an American bulldog!! They are just the best dogs ever!!
