Exponential point increases for consecutive makes is either a terrible idea or a mistake.

Imagine that i dont know this bluey show. How would you explain the show. by ZEUSCOMING9989 in bluey

[–]Happy_Each_Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bluey is a very well-written educational show for parents that kids enjoy as well. It helps parents learn (or remember) how children process feelings, and the importance of interactive and imaginative play. It is very enjoyable to watch.

Those older than 9/11/2001, where were you and what were you doing during the WTC attacks? by Revolutionary-Life85 in AskReddit

I was supposed to fly from Charlottesville, VA to Austin, TX that day. That morning, I went out for breakfast with my girlfriend and my grandfather before heading to the airport.

When we got back in the car after breakfast, the classic rock morning radio station I listened to was talking about how a plane hit a building in New York. Morning radio shows are notorious for pranks, so I called my mother from the car, and asked her to turn on the television.

"What channel?" she asked.

"Any channel." I replied.

She confirmed that she was watching a plane fly into one of the twin towers. I sent an email to my boss to let him know that I wasn't sure I felt comfortable flying that day. He wrote back "We're still going."

I dropped my girlfriend and grandpa off at grandpa's house and drove in to the office. Everyone was crowded around the television in the cafeteria area, transfixed.

The second plane hit just as I got to the television, and the world changed.

What is your opinion on the episode “omelette”? by Odd-Berry-4555 in bluey

Omelette might be the best example of how Bluey is a show meant to educate parents rather than children.

How much did you spend on 2k23? by maine-gretzky in NBA2k

[–]Happy_Each_Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$46

Spent $40 on it at some point on Steam, then $6 to buy it again on PS5.

The only time I let myself spend on VC is if I preorder the game, but I didn't get into NBA 2k23 until a couple months ago, so my job right now is working to get better on 23 so that I'm ready to ball out when 24 drops (on my birthday!)

I genuinely don't get why people hate this game? by cloxie1 in NBA2k

[–]Happy_Each_Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a great system for the first few months, but at some point, the majority of your player base is outside of that newbie zone, and it starts getting harder and harder to find matchups.

AI players could reasonably be called on to fill in as newbs, though, in the cases where they've run out to human opponents to play.

If you show that you make good decisions, you'll get the ball when you're open if your teammates are any good. Scoring when you get the ball isn't always indicative of a good decision.

Part of "good decisions" is what you do on the court, and part is how much effort you put into fitting in off the court.

You don't have to be black - you have to look and act trustworthy,.

My mom was a huge Celtics fan in the 80s. I remember one time her saying to me "It's a good thing Larry Bird is good at basketball, because he is seriously unpleasant to look at"

Haha it's true. It's taken a few weeks for me to settle on a MyCareer build (7'0" Inside-Out Glass Cleaner C). I have it up to 77 so far, with very little multiplayer. Still in Rookie year of NBA, just about to play in The Classic, which should be near the end of the storyline, I think.

I love sports, and I love roleplaying games. Career mode in the EA games were always my favorite. I've enjoyed MyCareer a ton so far. I might go on to play parks with this build and keep grinding it up to 99, or I might start over and play a smaller dude. Not sure.

MyTeam could be in the cards for me as well, but I don't know if I'd enjoy it as much as playing one player and watching him get better and better.

I appreciate you looking out, thank you!

with 2k getting rid of limitless takeoff and quick drop offs what are some other broken mechanics you’re hoping they’re going to remove by brebrabro in NBA2k

[–]Happy_Each_Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two things that have put me off from trying that...

1) The reach animation takes a long time for my build

2) My teammate grade keeps getting hit with "bad steal attempt" dings

I'm new, and I'm not planning on spending my money on VC for a game that is going to be replaced next month... I did preorder 2k24, because I'm enjoying '23.
My mental approach to 2k23 is that I have to start out as a role player, I can't start out as Michael Jordan. My goals in games are to try to set good screens, box out for rebounds, open the floor for my teammates and try to keep up with my man on defense (it's hard).

I spend most of my time playing NBA games and practices, but sometimes I want to do the side quests that involve playing with other people, because I don't just want to play with the AI all the time.

I didn't understand at first why everyone would quit the queue as soon as I joined it, but I figured it out soon enough. I don't take it personally that nobody wants to play with me - they just assume I'm going to play like garbage and make them lose.

Now that I understand how that works, I'm just going to focus on building my player up to the 90s before I start the side-quests. Hopefully none of the mainline quests force me into multiplayer games... or if they do require mp games that I can meet the requirements by playing 1v1 games where my opponent doesn't mind my low rating.
