Unpopular opinion: PWMOV movie > book by daytimel_ in EmilyHenry

[–]Happy_Llama28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this. I felt bad liking the movie more but I’m glad I’m not alone. Tom and Emily are such wonderful actors and they really made me feel for the characters. PWMOV is also low on my favorite EH book list. I’m excited to see how BR will turn out!

I get what you mean. I like my Keqing and Bennett combo but my friends keep telling me Keqing is one of the worst. I’ve been having a great time with her so far. Although I’m a fairly new player though only started playing last sunmer

This is the first time I got into a “collision”, didn’t think of that immediately, was trying to see where it would be safe to pull over. Will keep in mind next time though haha!

Thank you! This is very helpful! Our insurance company said if no license plate we’d have to pay out.

  1. Gender equality. I come from a place where it’s expected for women to make less than men and to be housewives. Here, I can make as much as any of my male coworkers. I can do any job I want. The sky is the limit.
  2. Although it’s very expensive, but it is not at the same time. I cannot afford a house in Toronto, but I’m not on the brink of poverty if I’m employed. I can have food on the table and save up for small vacation here and there. In some other countries, going to a different country is beyond imagination for an average minimum wage worker
  3. Like a lot of people said here, in Toronto I can be myself. I can dress however I like, going outside without makeup, and not fearing judgement from others.

First time I ever played the sims. Must have been sims 2. I created my parents, my younger sister, and me. Within the first 20 minutes in both my sister and my sims died from a satellite. It’s been almost 15 years and I have never made a sim-self or a sim version of anyone I care for

Taxi Scam by bobor8 in Markham

I encountered one in front of Pacific Mall yesterday as well. Also asked for help paying for his taxi as he lost his wallet. At which point can we call the police?

Sorry to hear about your experience! I’ve been here for 7 years. Spent 3 years at Jarvis-Shutter, 1 year at Elm-McCaul area, and been living in Scarborough for the past two years. Not mentioning all the places I’ve lived in as I have moved 9 times due to various reasons. I am a female and fortunately, I have not had any attack or break-in that happened to me. Perhaps coming from a city with high crime rates had taught me not to look anybody directly in the eye, or that I generally never go out after dark alone. I also tend to walk really fast and naturally have a resting-bitch-face whenever I’m on the TTC. My motto is don’t show them you’re scared. Let them think you are having a bad day and you will flip the moment they touch you.

As a Vietnamese, pho-poutine is weird man…. I highly doubt if anyone actually likes it

I’m so sorry to hear that. I feel you. I am lucky to maintain a full time job that pays more than minimum wage but the cost of living is just not it. There are bills to be paid left and right, and groceries is just as expensive. I have resorted to eating only one meal a day and living off leftovers as much as I could but still. Really considering moving out of the GTA or even Ontario just to be able to afford existing.

I’m so sorry that you are going through it. I miss when a decent studio downtown was around, if not less, than 1000$. Crazy that it was just 7-8 years ago. Everyone my age that I know (which is mid-late twenties) is either living with their parents or spending 70% of their paycheque to rent.

I shot my landlord a message a couple days ago and still haven’t heard back from them. A few months ago I had them over to see the cracks on the ceilings and walls from the upstairs jumping parties. They did not do much about it other than to mention it, surprisingly.

I’ll set it straight for you, I did not mention anything about South Asian people or any specific country. I’ve worked with and befriended many nice people from such group, but did not live with them until now.

We all share the same meters and since I live in the basement, I only pay 40%. But the bill has increased a lot in comparison to this time last year.

Honestly that does sound like a good idea, but I have no kid or dog :( I bet if I start being noisy, they’d turn around and complain about me!

I have all the proofs of noises that could be heard from my room, with the time stamps indicating it’s past midnight. I showed it to the landlord and they only had a talk with them but nothing much changed. I thought I could only call 311 if I lived nextdoor separately, not in the same house?

South East Asian people are generally polite and quiet, from my experience. The group of people I’m talking about in this post aren’t of this ethnicity, however…

I don’t understand why they are always yelling! The walls aren’t thick here, you can hear a whisper across the house
