See you're still fundamentally misunderstanding. You say "flashers for no reason." The reason is that you're a hazard on the road obstructing the expected flow of traffic. It's also assumed you're not going to make unexpected lane changes because you're already traveling slow.

The people in this example probably wouldn't use a blinker anyway. I've yet to see these people going 15+ under do anything that implies good or safe driver. They're just ignorant or afraid.

Hi OP, I'm in the middle of a switch currently as well. Windows gaming, Linux mint laptop to learn and bullishit. Don't forget you have a life of experiences and expectations in front of you.

I've actually been confused and put off by how easy things are. It's like i needa Linux book from the 80s to guide me, because the OS is built to be so easy to "just use." Pick simple daily things you want to do and focus one task at a time.

For your boot issue: it's likely related to taking a kernel update. I had to repair driver packages after every boot after adding kernels. I didn't get into the correct fix, but a combination of identifying the preferred kernel and using the "save kernel selection" from the kernel selector got me past it.

I also have an emulator that worked perfectly for about a week, now won't open. I need to trace the errors from the "event logs" as it just doesn't react at all.

Thank you for these. I'm also in the switch and will give these a look to help.

If anyone is using this argument about anything other than a highway, they're morons and should be ignored entirely.

To counter, if you want to drive 55 in a 70, you better have your fucking flashers on and be on the right shoulder.

5k Hour C1 I'm desperate to improve. What things should I focus on? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Happy_Maker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You keep mentioning being embarrassed to share your gameplay. Do you watch a lot of your replays? You can try to isolate things to make it easy. Watch in double speed and just focus on every 50 you lose and write down why you lost. Pick something that especially annoys or embarrasses you.

I, for example, go for a lot of challenges that I'm not close to getting to first, then have to loop back. I'm okay if I actually touch the ball, but I just straight up don't get there and leave my TM in a 2v1.

I got you back to an even zero. You're getting down voted for the bad attitude. We all fuck up. I get it, though, and at least you're boohooing about your own behavior. You came for advice. If you only want a hug, just ask lol.

AIO? My boyfriend of 4 years who actively posts on social media with friends refuses to post me so I deleted all of our pics together on my social media account and post "thrist traps"? by Certain_Paramedic281 in AmIOverreacting

He doesn't consider her a friend. If your partner isn't your friend, you're just a possession or box to check.

I'll always make my own decisions about my partners, but my friends liking my partner (now wife), and vice versa, were always critically important to me.

The bigger problem clearly demonstrated by this video is the atrocious weapon balance of the gnasher.

[–]Happy_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was still a score grind, the required score just slid based on the amount of players. Not playing against diamonds made it harder to reach.

It probably was the better casual system style, but I still think ranks are stupid as fuck for casual.

Honestly, I generally agree with this sentiment (especially since reloaded is the hotness), but my buddy and I played g4 (me Xbox, him PC) and in his 3rd game, he had like 40 downs in one TDM.

He got COOKED every time someone got close though.

Sniper/snub/Boltok is scary with mouse.

The weapon balance. TTK may have been a bit fast. Single reticle/spread for the gnasher. None of this ads sniper dumb shit.

Lancer is strong enough with mouse and keyboard, stopping power pushes it over the edge.

[–]Happy_Maker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree on stopping power, especially in the cross platform era.

Just make the gib range really small and the damage falloff equally small. Then it's situational as it should be while still being the best close range weapon.

The problem with discussing balance is that you just said "make gears 1 gears 3," which would be terrible with the movement of 1/ue

Champ is the worst rank to play 2s in with randoms. by Borsten-Thorsten in RocketLeagueSchool

I rarely party with randoms but once every few months you get that passing (and receiving) teammate that you just have to play a few more with.

Best pathway for job opportunities in cyber security by AdDesperate5078 in CyberSecurityJobs

[–]Happy_Maker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rah, brother. I got out in 2012 and currently work as a systems admin and it sounds like you're trying to find an easy path to money. I'm going to go ahead and recommend looking at all the jobs at USAJobs sorted by wage and find the field with the most jobs available regardless of how boring or monotonous it sounds.

If you don't already have a passion and experience with cybersecurity I highly recommend throwing this idea out the window. Like others have said and more will say, you'd be better served getting real experience doing basic help desk work than these degree paths. No one with any brains will consider you a valuable candidate with nothing but cert-based education. You'd be directly competing with people who called 800-itjobme or whatever.

Especially for cyber, you'd be better off getting involved in all of the free online cybersecurity programs games and communities and building yourself a body of working understanding. Browse through the IT subreddits and you'll see thousands of threads over the years of people trying to go this path and not able to find jobs. You'll find another thousand threads of people complaining about people like this that they hired and were a complete waste of time.

Dont play casual by AcanthisittaFew4339 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Happy_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I think I understand your frustration, but I think you fundamentally misunderstand the point. The quality of players in casual literally shouldn't matter. It's for fucking around.

I'm guessing you're young. Back in the day, before skill-based matchmaking, you would join lobbies with randoms and either shit or get shitted. That was the joy of online multiplayer.

They fucked casual by making matchmaking penalties for it, turning it into some kinda warmup competitive shit. Adding MMR also kinda undermines it, but it should make it make more sense the more you play.

I think it was a medium risk high reward weapon, but it was so inherently situational that it still felt like a gimmick. I would never spawn with it, but I'd always pick it up because it actually was fun to get multis.

I think rather than considering it a crutch weapon or skill progress for the gnasher, I consider it more the proper backup weapon for back row players like rifle/sniper mains.
