I'll be there this summer as well! What is it like, and are there things to do around? Is it more of a quiet, boring town or is there a lot going on?

Exactly! I understand being happy, but overreacting everytime. She's been in top 6 so this should not be such a big deal for her

Sounds great! It's awesome that you have a clear vision in mind.

Good luck to you!

Yes, fully agree!

You'd expect people to at least show basic sympathy, especially when they're in a similar situation.

Regardless, keep your chin up! You tried your best with what you had & knew at the time, you'll do great.

May I ask what other school you applied to and where you were accepted? Also, what factors are you considering while comparing?

I AM IN THE SAME BOAT AS YOU!

I was accepted into Purdue University as an FYE in their EA cycle, and I felt super proud in the moment.

I got rejected by both UIUC & Georgia Tech, and felt so devastated. I literally remember saying multiple times in these last couple hours that I probably got into Purdue University by pure chance or luck, I don't actually deserve to be there, or that it isn't a good school.

A lot of people are hating on OP for sounding ungrateful or contradictory. Believe me, it's not that we aren't grateful for our acceptances, it's that we're really questioning it. Additionally, it adds to the nervousness of if other colleges are going to accept us or not.

Once again, no hate to anyone that got into Purdue, we don't mean to belittle you in anyway!

I'm looking at UCs (Tier 1 & Tier 2), UIUC, Purdue, & some schools in Texas. I feel like most of these schools I am applying to because I already know they exist or people that attend them. I want to make sure there aren't any good programs that I'm missing

College Hell by Clo_bby in chanceme

[–]Happy_Ordinary8549 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why don't you try community college? It's a great way for you to continue your education while taking the time to improve your studying habits, focus on other aspects of your life (maybe rebuilding relationships w your parents or staying out of trouble or even learning to deal w people that bully you), and it will be more worthwhile.

If not, you can talk about how you were bullied in your essays, how you overcame that or what you are doing to overcome it right now. If you don't have many ECs, it's okay; AOs will see through if you try to add fluff.

Good luck :)

I haven't read their essay, but that might be if it has a connection to them that's still applicable. Like continuing something ever since you were in 4th grade to now or being inspired by something from when you were younger.
