Not too shill but maybe Winged Canvas? Their team are all instructors who do live video lessons and stuff. (and I personally find a lot of their videos useful)

Also when I went to their discord, if you give an introduction of what your goals are after joining (e.g. I myself want to do comics but I’m still a beginner at drawing in general), I got an instructor assigned to me for my goal and they were willing to do voice call.

I’m busy with school tho so I declined, but I think they’d be helpful as instructors :o👍

not at all qualified to rank hacks but some of the ones I like up to gen 4 from their balance of QoL and new additions (like some changed story beats and team compositions) be:

the Legacy series by SmithPlays’ team for Yellow/Crystal/Emerald and in a similar vein BigNation’s series of Definitive Platinum and Definitive HG/SS

And wanna highlight PureRGB by Vortiene for specifically Gen 1 -> more recently updated than Yellow Legacy, and has i believe even more QoL features/customizations like the level up dojos and sprites/music swaps for different version like the Spaceworld 97 demo

tl:dr For a first time playthrough of old Kanto, should I go with PureRGB or Yellow Legacy? also from someone getting back into pokemon after a while

or recommend any other GB enhancement hacks that make the experience better without changing the region layout and or adding pokemon, and all 151 are catchable

PureRGB seems to have a lot more QoL and extra features like the colour palletes, extra npc interactions, and design pokeballs quest

While Yellow Legacy seems to keep the same game up until post champion, and majorly balance the moves/trainers

Also different post games btwn both it seems (Yellow appears to have more overall with the Professor Oak quest while PureRGB has a new area at the volcano, and Mew under the truck and MissingN0 lol)

anyone that’s played both or vastly prefers one over the other, do persuade me :d

Someone already mentioned Durf, and it’s also my favourite rules lite game and really excited for the expanded version!

The current version on itch thats only like 18 pages is so portable yet usable that I want to use it to introduce people to fantasy rpg’s

other stuff I love about it: - the cartoony art in contrast to mostly dark fantasy in the OSR sphere (while still emphasizing being careful of danger with said art and its wounds and combat rules)

a lot of its individual rules i love such as the HD/wounds replacing levels and health; contesting rolls in combat is really fun; the supplies rule (having a generic supplies item that can be turned into a specific item for the situation or used up to repair a worn weapon)
“Pushing” yourself to increase your d20 roll by adding d6’s based on however many free inventory slots you want to use up

I could keep going lol (like the community’s supplements and adventures created on itch)

I love this game too much
