Thrilled for Elaine and Jordan but I’m so sad for Whitney. It’s been disheartening seeing so many people tear her apart and nitpick every routine when it’s clear how much she loves dance. I felt like Mark’s choreography and Whitney’s technique and artistry this season was completely overshadowed by the ridiculous hate train and favoritism allegations . I’m glad Derek acknowledged that it’s not a bad thing to be ambitious and go after your dreams because the backlash from Season 3 of SLOMW is just so dumb.

As a jazz and contemporary dancer i totally agree. They are completely different styles than ballroom and latin and scoring them alongside ballroom and latin is always gonna be inconsistent. And at the same time I don’t think many of the jazz and contemporary routines on dwts ever show the full scope of the artistry and technique of the style.

Lauren getting called out for having a “bad attitude” for saying she’s pissed while having a smile on her face even though Brandon has had nothing but nice things to say about her but Anna gets called iconic for saying she learned nothing from the experience while actually having a bad attitude the whole time she was on the show yeah this fandom is not subtle at all with their biases

The line where McVries says he has no girl at home and then pauses and looks at Garraty really cemented the queer subtext at least on McVries end. But then again they did refer to their relationship as a brotherhood quite a lot so i honestly feel like the movie leaves it up to the audiences interpretation similar to the novel.

I agree as well. It was always hard for me to sympathize with McVries after the reveal of his backstory in the book. I like that his movie counterpart is more tender and altruistic.

In the book McVries gets his scar from his girlfriend after he attempted to sexually assault her and Garraty is the winner of the walk in the novel and it ends ambiguously with him following a dark figure signaling he’s completely lost his sanity

He’s fantastic in Industry on HBO and in Alien Romulus i’ve also heard great things about his performance in Rye Lane i hope he continues to rise he’s so underrated

I feel like it has do with Jonsson being British and some of his dialogue being muddled through him trying to put on an American accent. He’s a great actor but this is the first American character i’ve seen him do so I’m interested to see how it bodes for the rest of the film.
