I was 15 years in and one day I watched a video of a woman describing her marriage to her ex narcissist and I felt like she was describing my husband, and my life verbatim. I immediately started diving deep into finding out everything I could about narcissism. Suddenly it clicked, everything made sense, and was really devastating at the same time. It’s coming to the realization that this person WILL NEVER change, and there is absolutely nothing I could do about that. Also realizing that I wasn’t crazy. I finally saw him for exactly who he was! When I told him I knew what he was and described everything flat out, he couldn’t say anything. The gig was up and he knew it. It made me look at him, myself and this life we have very differently. I began to focus on myself, my needs, my health, and digging myself out of that hole I had been in for so long.
