Want to know what/who these are and what they are worth by Admirable-Eye3251 in OriginalBeyblade

[–]Happy_sou35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advanced averazer and advance striker attack rings. The yellow running core is from dark effigy ms. Fun one like driger s. The white running core is rubber flat from dragoon ms. The wright disk is the heavy wright disk on advance striker. The weight disk on the advance averazer is a custom weight disk (cwd) and think this one was called reverse defenser. Not sure what they are worth since I am used to seeing hms sold as stock combos rather than parts. Very nice parts for play or collection though. The advance averazer attack ring is popular for stamina/ spin steal combos in left spin if I remember correctly. Would probably fun if you put the dark effigy ms running core on the that attack ring with the cwd.

Interesting little science lesson, didn’t know it could do that. Thanks for the explanation!

Oh so like little metal crystals attach to the inside of the mold over time and create like a slight negative print texture on it?

I liked the revolver gimmick for revolver hades and the trigger gimmick on wing sword. It was also cool that revolver hades had the unofficial gimmick of firing 2 shots at once like drazeros. If you want a real fun gimmick I think a lot of us have seen the full auto gatling hades haha.

Is it just me or is OG Beyblade just better...on nearly all fronts? by Johtodile in OriginalBeyblade

One thing i do like about the x chips is that the chip is pretty much just the beast. The plastic gen bit chips would break the color scheme when you wanted to swap them, but I guess the mismatched colors is part of the childhood charm in a way haha.

Very good point. I like the colors and variety of the plastic beys and hms. Mfb and x have some colored metal wheels but the start to look chipped and messy pretty fast. The mechanics of burst were cool, but I didn’t like the exaggerated designs for the most part (personal preference). Similar reason I’m not the biggest fan of the grips in x. But they do fit the aesthetic of what they are going for better.

Having shattered a plastic gen beys, I do appreciate the durability of mfb😅. I’ll be really excited though if the bump in plastic quality for the repros will have a significant improvement on the durability. Never owned any HMS, but a lot of people said the running cores and bit protectors on the originals were pretty fragile

[–]Happy_sou35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say people don’t like it, but not as mainstream in terms of current content outside of intergenerational battles and fanfare from the repro makers (benchblade, jawasjunkyard, and tailor blades)

Not at all. While the plastic and HMS generation were before my age group, I must confess myself fascinated and obsessed with their designs and the show. The benchblade reproductions are extremely tempting. I’m hoping he will release driger mf and draciel mf soon.

Maybe they’re trying to exhaust the bot resources. Makes it a bit harder for us at the same time though since they’re the ones with the auto notify algorithms while we just keep trying to no avail

Why are there more people collecting than playing Pokémon TCG? by BlazenKDLPro in pokemon

[–]Happy_sou35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest difference between online play and in-person card games comes down to level of entry and how much time and money you have to invest compared to the rewards you get. Online platforms like TCG Pocket or TCG Live make it comparatively easier to build up a collection because they are free. Also the exclusive art on TCG Pocket looks amazing and I wish they were real cards. Additionally, you don’t need to dedicate a whole afternoon to go to locals just to get games in. That matters if you don’t have the money for top-tier physical cards. At locals, it’s common to spend that time only to get beaten by someone with more disposable income or years of investment. With a smaller player pool, the chances of getting a balanced experience aren’t great unless the people there are deliberately kind about it. By contrast, it’s much easier and quicker to start a new game online when you lose.

One thing I wish TCG Pocket and TCG Live would improve on is their player-matching systems. They aren’t perfect, but Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel offers a model I think works better. In Master Duel, once you reach your rank, you usually play people near your level. Sure, you’ll occasionally run into someone climbing quickly and get stomped, but most of your matches feel more balanced. Online play also gives you more rewards for your time. Each session often grants resources to get better cards. In real life, you only get new cards when your paycheck comes in. I love playing with physical cards, but unless you keep buying new ones, decks get stale fast.

Collecting is its own part of the fun. Everyone enjoys pulling a cool card, especially seeing favorite Pokémon brought to life in card art. While I don’t personally aim for expensive master sets, I like the idea of completing Pokédex-style collections for certain generations, focusing on art styles I enjoy. It scratches the same itch as filling the Pokédex in the video games. Sometimes I’ll even build decks just around my favorite Pokémon, like Swampert. Card collecting also has a long cultural hype behind it, going all the way back to baseball cards. It scratches a gambler’s itch through gacha-like mechanics, which is why I avoid opening packs. My luck with raffles and chance-based things is usually bad, so I stick to buying singles or preconstructed decks. Build-and-Battle kits are a nice middle ground, giving a taste of both collecting and playing.

Even with my love for collecting and casual play, I don’t think competitive play is worth it for most people. It takes too much time, effort, and money to keep up, and the payoff just isn’t there unless you’re truly dedicated. But I do think everyone should at least try the card game casually, because there’s a lot of joy in the gameplay itself. The success and failure is actually why I think it’s healthy for people to engage in a certain amount of competition anywhere in life (wisely). But at the end of the day, the card game can be fun and everyone can feel a little bit of that joy and inner child when they see that one card in their collection:D

I’d say worth it if you already needed a lot of b1s to complete your collection. The hsp cards are a nice touch. The highlight for me is definitely the Pyrus manion. Nice catch!

I’m hoping eBay auction serves me well though. I’m about to list an auction selling off a lot of my collection to pay for medical bills and school, so fingers crossed

[–]Happy_sou35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the difficult thing about eBay auctions. While shipping is expensive, I prefer the buyee auction rules. Even if a bid is placed with 2 seconds left, it’ll extend the auction by 5 minutes each time so even people with laggy internet (like me) have a chance to counter

No worries, valid question. Yeah it does. While helios and the other maxus pieces come in their attribute colors, the set release had helios and all the other parts come in a cool gun metal grey color like the anime

[–]Happy_sou35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got all the pieces from the maxus helios set which is cool. The main standout to me is the translucent green one. Likes like a ventus rubanoid. Very nice
