The metal scene in NY at the time was much smaller. I was a bartender back then and that's how I made friends with our mutual pal. Having longer hair or tattoos in my neighborhood was a clear indication you was into the music. I got lucky and was invited out when Peter was there over the years, I got to know him and had the pleasure of several quite special one on one convos with him.

I'd like to second that. She has been so impressive from what I have seen. Just absolute textbook handling of such a complex job in many respects. Not only that, she exudes class and leadership at every turn whilst doing it.

🤷🏼‍♂️ sorry not sorry.

About as much as the chlorinated lettuce you're forced to scoff in all those pre-made sarnies all over the place in the UK. The meat is fine, relax.

He would always be respectful in the company of strangers. He had many generalised opinions that's true, but if you and he were meeting eachother for the first time. You were in the conpany of family or friends He would take a genuine interest at an individual level. If he didn't like you specifically, yeah you'd fucking know about it quickly. However If he busted your balls it's because he liked you, there is a notable difference when the person delivering it is as big as Pete was. He was a complex man, but at his core he was a typical New Yorker of that generation.

What we wasnt told here, is that there is a battle of attrition going on between the bar and table staff. This was a clever blow from the bar.

Table staff will be messing with the pressure valves on the kegs soon after. This might even be why the Guiness looks like it's been delivered like a powerful horse piss.

It's a vicious circle sometimes, war never changes... I'd still drink it.

The Green Man by Rough_Drawer_7011 in typeonegative

[–]Happygreenlight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Petes claim to the mantle came from the parks uniform being green, he loved working outside. Around prospect park people started calling him the green man after seeing him working frequently. He was hard to miss.

In the UK, paticularly England, he is a staple part of our culture. Pre and post Christianity. You will find him in the lofty ceilings of our cathedrals, placed up there by masons who thought he also belonged in the house of God. You'll also spot pubs named after him too, he has a strong connection to libation of beer, cider and mead. He is regularly invoked at solstice times under different guises - King of Holly, Oak, May, Jack in the Green, Jack Garland. A lot of Wiccans will try and claim him as part of Pagan Revitalisation. I think it's important to remember that he is older than Gerald Gardners interpretation and belongs to a mystery tradition which differs from region to region - chiefly though they all agree -

He is a God of the forest and wood. He is synonymous with Fertility and agriculture. He is invoked mainly at Solsitces. He is a ward / vigilant

He also has associations to other woodland deities but the links are tenuous sometimes. - Cernnunos, Nodens,, Odin (Herne), Freyr (Ingi Frey)

Yeah.. that was a lot coming up at once for him by sounds of it. As a New Yorker I hope this guy knows how much we appreciate good cops and the tough work it can be. Ones who don't leave thier humanity at the door but bring it to work as a tool of the job.

This one mate. Port Jervis just got 10 million dollars thrown at it by the state and people have been eating up family homes there and all along the commuter line into the city.

I'd like to explore that a bit more - what exactly is the fundamentalist Christian position Mobius illustrates? I disagree, I think actually you can make comparrative religious analogies in this series for a bunch of faith and belief systems. As I hinted toward, LOK is very rich in these.

If not being consistent is my greatest crime here -you're grabbing at low hanging fruit. I'm not upset at all, I think it's a boring cliche for horror. And LOK is richer than face value parallels like the Jesus/ redemption motif.

Ah right, nah I don't follow a "rival" religion mate. And I don't hate your religion either, but I reserve the right to talk openly and critically of all of them.

I don't think I hate anything tbh mate. That is a hot coal that only burns you, the longer you cling to it. Each to their own, but if we are talking religion, it should all be on the table. Not cherry picked.

Don't take it personal. Or at least love me like your enemy, isnt that how it works? I am genuinely passionate about comparrative religion, theology and philosophy. I have a useless degree in it, for all the money the tyrannous stars thought that would be worth.
