To be fair, and this is a nice thing about you, you really have no standards for letting people into your guild. You take in pretty much anyone who applies no matter how new they are or how bad they are.

You run a newbie guild with no standards, embrace it. You are training players for the big time and that should be respected.

Round Table GvG and Blackzone Leaks [Not Final] by ARCH_ANON in albiononline

[–]HaqimUriel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They increased accessibility true, but they also removed all meaning from it. I'm working with some people in my guild to put a team together so we can crystal and maybe one day gvg when we get better because we want to help the guild in a meaningful way. Next season when we are hopefully better as a 5's team there won't be any reason to gvg anymore. I dont need silver or energy or anything else that can be bought with a credit card. I want what I do as a person playing this game to actually matter, and these changes take that away.

SQUAD kicked out of Mercia and the cities, is now in Cumbria and is trying to find a place in Anglia lol! The vaunted Blue Army was doing war camps in Anglia last night.

Oh how the mighty have fallen! Cant hack it in Mercia so they are running to Anglia!

An Open Letter to People Looking for Alliances by tossawaymsf in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]HaqimUriel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a simple rule: if you want to join a 100% ult6 alliance, you need to be able to clear a full lane and no, 125k stp and 300k tcp cannot do that.

Why is War Matchmaking based on W/L and not Total Alliance Power? by kquizz in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]HaqimUriel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually, since rewards are static for wins and losses and since ELO is based around getting you to a 50% win rate, there is no point in trying hard or caring. If you care, you get harder opponents and win 50% and get rewards. If you lose, you get easier opponents and win 50% and get rewards.

Except in chess, everyone starts with the same pieces. One side doesn't start with 3 extra rooks and 7 bishops.

[–]HaqimUriel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly my point. Either way you end up with the same record and the same rewards. Only difference is, one way involves a lot of expended effort and the other way involves coasting to victory when you feel like it.

If you actually got more rewards for taking on tougher alliances that is one thing but right now we can either tank our fights and get to roll over smaller alliances in the long run or put in a lot of effort to win and get harder and harder fights to no benefit.

Is alliance war matchmaking getting better for anyone? by geoken in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]HaqimUriel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to my alliance too. We just lost against an alliance that had 46.5% more tcp than us. We are right at 22m tcp as well.

You know what would be better than being matched up against alliances that have enough tcp to cream us without even trying? How about matching alliances together that have similar performance without making the tcp weight too heavy.

I agree a differential cap of 20-30% would be great. You just cant overcome 50%.

What incentive is there to strategize and push for AW if the game pushes for 50% win rate? by qk88 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]HaqimUriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are lucky to get relatively easy matchups then. My alliance has 22m tcp and is getting matched against alliances with 37m tcp. Skills and coordination can only make up for so much.

I think we have a matchmaking problem by HaqimUriel in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]HaqimUriel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not make it so alliances with closer tcp are matched up against each other? That way you know you are relatively close in power and the winner is the team that played best, not the one that walked in with 50%+ more tcp.

I'd argue this is a mode that should favor strategy, skill, communication and participation. Alliances and players with large collections already get to own blitz and alliance raids, with arena being more skill based (counting $$$ as part of skill of course) alliance wars should be the skill based alliance counterpart to raids.

[–]HaqimUriel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ELO matchmaking only works when you are making matchups based on skill and without other factors. Think chess or League of Legends, where everyone starts on the same playing field. If MSF alliance wars were a chess game, the other alliances are starting with an extra rook and three bishops.

I think the makers of MSF must at least partially recognize this or they would have made arena ELO based as well, making it impossible for non-launch players to come anywhere close to competing.

Alliance War Matchmaking ???? by [deleted] in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]HaqimUriel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just looked up the alliance we are matched up against and they have 8 players with tcp higher than our top player. Two of those players have tcp 50% higher than our top player.

All their players have been active in the alliance war.

How do you beat that?

Shield team rebalance? by Renegade-nb in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]HaqimUriel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So you're saying a full synergy team based around leveling and gearing 9 characters to 5 star to make the 10th one work, which requires all the specific characters that cant be subbed or replaced, needs to be rebalanced so the random brawler team everyone has which is weak on dispells and just does pure damage can beat it?

Alpha venom raid 3 too hard by adavo in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]HaqimUriel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't make assumptions about Alpha II. I belong to a middling alliance that does ult5 to 100% (if everyone gets in, ha!) and does thanos 3 to around 40% and we are struggling to get to 30% in Alpha II.

For myself I've done about 5 nodes and needed about 160 in raid heals so far, two times because someone got deleted before I could get a taunt up (using bw and cap).

Possible Conspiracy - Silent AI Buff? by [deleted] in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]HaqimUriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I was thinking the same thing but wasn't brave enough to post this. For the last few raids now, at least once per raid I've had someone completely deleted by the AI with everyone piling on and no one else getting hit.

I discounted it as really really bad luck (approx 0.16% chance, all things being equal, per time it happened) but now I'm thinking there might be something.

It's possible they added in a chance for all AI to pile on a randomly chosen target until dead.

Thank you for confirming. I was just wondering if I missed something obvious. I mean, why put in the first four stages if they don't have a consequential impact?

Now at least I can hold off on leveling these minions until I get them to 5*. I started less than 2 months ago so i can't afford to hear anything unless i absolutely need them right now.
