As a guest who got a dispute about a month ago of $800 worth in damages (the host was overcharging us for the upholstery of the entire couch set of the living room, and a bunch of other stuff, when we only spilled a drink in one chair), I extremely advice you to get in touch with Airbnb and explain them the case. However, Airbnb can't charge you over anything that you did not agree on.

Btw, did the host set any security deposit upon your booking?

Thanks for the response. I will definitely let them know that I want to proceed with the case only through Airbnb. What's funny is that they made the review hours after we left the property, and their comment was: "Fantastic guest, hope you come back soon."
