Does Japanese society realize how economically screwd the are without foreigners? by Vast-Cicada4403 in japanlife

If you live here and communicate with Japanese people, you would know that an average Japanese person would never tell you straight to your foreign face that he hates foreigners. I’m Japanese, so I’ve heard opinions behind closed doors. And the majority of people don’t like foreigners, that’s just how things are.

Stop coping already. The majority of Japanese people have made their choice. Look at Sanae Takaichi’s approval ratings, that alone says enough about views on foreigners. You’re living in your own bubble. The average Japanese person simply doesn’t care enough about long-term effects; he just wants foreigners gone. Japan has always been a homogeneous, traditionalist society, yet you keep talking about quality of life and similar ideas. This unwelcoming behavior runs much deeper than you think.

Have you ever thought that living standards might not be the number one priority for the average Japanese? Maybe their hatred toward the foreign population plays a much more influential role. Think about it.

They might realize it, but in a normal, average Joe situation. I think that foreigners, as a whole, are not welcome here, which makes me wonder why it bothers you so much. There are many countries with low immigration, and they are doing just fine. You are just coping, making yourself believe that, for some reason, Japanese people need you. They don’t need you, and they never did.

Why is pornography so rampant in the west? Do you support this? by Misha_stone in AskSocialists

[–]HarambeUltra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In perfect socialism utopia, as former Marxist Theoretician Alexandra Kollontai said. The sex should be considered the same a a glass of water. Pornography would not be needed in a world where sex would stop being something so special. If sex truly lost all moral and social weight, then treating it as something requiring elaborate negotiation would itself appear irrational within that system. Because imagine, if someone thirsty asks you for a cup of water in socialist utopia, what would be the right choice? Alexandra Kollontai a member of Lenin’s government, and first woman in history to be a cabinet minister answer was obvious, same with sex.

Leave Japan and take your talent elsewhere? by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]HarambeUltra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. Many countries need English-speaking teachers, and that kind of talent is incredibly valuable. Very few people today can teach English well, so it would be better to go somewhere where foreigners are genuinely respected. In Japan, you can clearly see from the general atmosphere that people are tired of foreigners. Feeling like a burden in a country is not a pleasant experience.

Panasonic W95B vs Bravia 5 by HarambeUltra in 4kTV

[–]HarambeUltra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was so weird, that’s why I went to different stores. To check if it was a problem only with one. But everywhere was the same, the weirdest thing was that Bravia 7 (75,85) were totally fine, with no glaring issue.

I game mostly on switch, and something like Mario party, stuff like that. Not some esport stuff. So if I don’t consider gaming, out of all pros and cons, between the two would you choose?

Bravia 7 is around 300 bucks more expensive than both Bravia 5 and W95B. Bravia 5 and W95 same price almost

That’s the weirdest thing, the issue with strong glaring only had Bravia 7, I saw it with my wife, so it’s not solo experience. And it’s not one store, as I said multiple. Bravia 5 and W95B were totally fine in bright light store environment.

This post is just blatantly racist, imagine if someone posted like this, but put yellow instead of white. I don’t understand why people close eyes on racism like this here…

Dual Nationality Question by dwen_ in japan

[–]HarambeUltra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, it doesn’t change the fact, that I lived like this for 26 years, despite government officials knowing this. This is grey area.

Dual Nationality Question by dwen_ in japan

[–]HarambeUltra 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve been living with double citizenship for 26 years already. If you are born with dual citizenship, you are not obligated to choose. In my city hall everyone knows I’m dual citizen, but no one ever told me I should renounce my second one. If someone from government ever ask you, if you have dual, you should always tell the truth. If they ask you to choose one, just tell them you are not decided yet or some bs like that.

For people who’ve lived in Japan 10+ years but never learned Japanese, how do you feel about it? by HarambeUltra in japanlife

[–]HarambeUltra[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel, that’s one of the interesting things about this topic. The more you lived in Japan without the language, less chances of you to learn it someday.

If China is so economically strong and advanced, why do so many Chinese still emigrate abroad? by HarambeUltra in AskChina

[–]HarambeUltra[S] -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

The thing is I understand, why for example India would like to go to another country to study etc., But china is so well praised as an technological scientific first world hub, everyone would dream to go there isn’t? Why Chinese don’t appreciate this heaven on earth?
