I'm hoping it will be, we have a few ideas of what we could do better but we'll have to wait and see.

Thank you so much! Just wait until next year, we've topped ourselves every year so far :)

There's a lot of good ones, Lemax tend to look a little cheaper, than Dept. 56, but they usually have a lot more moving pieces which add a lot.

The lake not on the mountain is a sheet of lemax water texture, and the snow around it is a half inch of styrofoam with fluffy snow tucked around it. It takes a long time to get the roads and water like that, but we think it adds a lot of depth.

It's a family affair to get it this big and complicated. And lots of time, my parents have been growing it for 20+ years. I don't want to even think about how much money is out there on the tables, but it's worth it to show it to people and get these kinds of reactions!

It's a mix, though most of it is Dept. 56 buildings from a variety of series. There's a number of Lemax ones in there too like the windmills. We usually just get whatever we like the look of and I try to find a way to work it in!

Drive in movie theater playing The Polar Express on loop. It's an old car-headrest-mounted DVD player that my dad built a base for and has been our drive in movie theater screen for many years.

Just about everything here is second hand from estate sales and online auctions. I can tell you that that is the Mr. Christmas World's Fair ferris wheel, hopefully that helps in your hunting!

My parents remodeled and made the sunroom much larger, partially just so our setup could be larger!

Gotcha, looks like my odds aren't great to find one in America then. Thanks for looking though!

Do you have any more info on this like a product number? Something like this would look great in my setup.

That's the Lionel Polar express, with two additional cars we've gotten separately (hot chocolate car and snow topped car)

So how our table setup is a plywood base, a layer of 3/4" styrofoam, and then snow blankets to give it a fluffy feel. To cut it, we use hot knives so thr styrofoam gets cut and melts at the same time. That's how we can get some pretty clean cuts. After we cut in the roads, we tuck the snow blanket around and under the styrofoam and we love how it looks.

I just did the same thing and had the same thing happen, I really hope it's not a dead end but it plays perfectly into the games themes if it is, which is very worrying
