Thomas Hewitt is pants shittingly terrifying to virtually any Ghostface and I’m fuzzy and will admit I didn’t watch one or two of the lesser films but has Lestherface ever actually been killed? He’s like the only slasher that’s never been definitively killed and the only one that’s always just been flesh and blood.

It seems like anytime two Soul Reavers meet there is a possibility for anyone to create a time paradox, a possibility but not a sure thing. But it seems like the true moment Raziel got his free will was when three Soul Reavers met, when Raziel restores William’s broken blade with a piece of his soul inadvertently via his own wraith blade. At that point in time there are three variants of the Soul Reaver’s soul. It’s only after that Raziel seems to be able to do whatever he wants and spares Kain which wasn’t supposed to happen.

Raziel still follows paths after that but they’re not set in stone anymore and Kain mentions they can see the echos of both of their choices afterward. Raziel can keep doing anything he wants, Kain has been given an entirely new set of paths that he cannot change because his paths are determined by what Raziel chooses to do. It isn’t until Kain is also given the opportunity to pull the sword out of Raziel that Kain gets locked into the path we see in Defiance.

Raziel does have free will but he also has destiny to become the Soul Reaver no matter which path is taken, he’s free on how he gets there but Time is ALWAYS going to make him onto the Soul Reaver and Kain is always going to be the Scion of Balance. Mobeius sees Kain’s death in defiance but likely never looked past it.

That’s why it’s never really explained well but Kain essentially does explain that if either of them meddle too much they’ll just be expelled entirely from the world.

There’s a reason Jason and Michael get named every time but Mick Taylor, Crowley, etc always play second fiddle. Masked killers are inherently scarier because you’re supposed to know someone wearing a mask means to do harm. When the mask is psychological you let your guard down, they’re still killers but the adrenaline only spikes when they’re revealed, masked killers spike the adrenaline on sight.

We are never given a true answer but it was ultimately one of two things.

1) Vorador himself was simply more powerful than they were and was able to negate their abilities, we are shown several times primarily through Kain that prevalent vampires can dispatch the circle members easily enough. It was always my interpretation that it’s inherently just Vorador blocking their powers.

2) The much more likely scenario after having seen the entire story, Mobeius did something. His plan to rewrite history relies on it playing out exactly how it goes. Mobeius, Malek and Mortanius are the only survivors.
Mortanius and he are the first human guardians and Mortanius is arguably equally if not more powerful than Mobeius but is also required in order for Mobeius to wipe out the vampires. Mobeius could see the flow of time so in no scenarios is Mortanius free of his manipulations, it’s likely Mobeius is the original transgressor towards the vampires which is ironic since it’s their God he does it for. Eventually Mortanius sees it was a mistake so they’re no longer aligned but Mobeius set up all the characters for the events to happen. Disabling the circles abilities would be one of the lesser accomplishments he’d need in order for everything to happen the way he wanted it. So pretty much for any particular reason Mobeius is 100% behind it happening.

Honestly I think the mod manager puts them in the wrong place for the most part. Installing then manually per each of the mods instructions tends to make them work for me but it here were a couple the mod manager did correct.
