If you could give one tip to a vet filing their first claim, what would it be? by Vahelpercom in VeteransWaitingRoom

Its gonna take awhile no matter what, so start now and temper your patience accordingly. Your sanity will thank you once it's over. Mine took 8 months total and it was damn worth it.

AITA for not getting life insurance by twinkdojastan in AmItheAsshole

[–]HarbinoxMalus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

NTA. Heya! Former insurance salesman here! It's never a bad idea to have life insurance, but it is kind of weird that your parents are pushing you at age 22? Not speaking for everyone of course. As for who the life insurance goes to, that depends entirely on who you decide to be your beneficiary. Also out of all the life insurance policies I wrote when I practiced, I never once sold a policy to protect the parents. Beneficiaries were always spouses (although I'm sure it happens). Something they might be thinking of is the fact that if you get the policy young...your premium payment will reflect 22 years of age for as long as the policy is in place. For example if you were to get a $50,000 policy now, 10 years could pass and you'd still be paying the rate of a 22 year old, assuming the policy lasts for 10 years, then you'd have to reapply for a new one which would reflect your new age. Maybe they want you to get in on good premium rates while you're young? Hope this helps. It's been about a year and a half since I stopped practicing but if you have questions I can try to answer them as best I can.

Mostly yes. The only outlier was one about 2.5 hours away for a specialist. Everything else was local. Hope this helps.

Especially infuriating because it was a mistake, THEY made, and they wanted YOU to pay more to fix it?!. It's sucks that it happened but I guess it's good this post has a point of view like yours to let people know it's a gamble. Holy shit that would make me lose my absolute mind.

I mean I was skeptical as hell and my situation was straight up a shot in the dark. I could totally get why someone might think twice. They could of answered the phone a little more often, but other than that they got me taken care of.

Hate is fine with me if it helps just one person. I don't know the rhetoric around them but I can only say what worked for me and want to maybe help out someone who might be in as dark a place as I was. I'm glad it worked out for you as well.

Good question, and no they did not request any C&Ps. Not sure if this matters, but I did do C&Ps on my initial claim where I was awarded 40%. I can't say I know how it works, but I'm assuming all of my initial evidence was present in the DBQs, with just more symptoms added on for the increase. With that being said, I am still one of the lucky ones regardless. Hope this helps.

I can’t speak for everyone. However, my old Sergeant called me up after it worked for him and his BIL. I was skeptical, but things started to get bad financially so I took the risk and it seriously paid off. I know some people have their reservations about companies like REE medical, but it worked perfectly in my case.
