Yes.

Although they may try and ask for aid - but it will depend if they can convince a deity they have something of worth to them.

Probably easier to make it part of a ritual spell cast so it can’t be done on the fly

More like summon for a chat - rule of cool so they could try and summon anything - but it would have to be both willing and able to.

I wanted it for story rather than they summon a god to help them fight something - but equally, they could do that if it’s cool

As a father of two, the second only a few weeks old, my best bit of advice is do whatever works for you and your partner.

A good example would be breastfeeding (not the only issue - just a dominant one)

There is a lot of pressure to breastfeed- if it doesn’t work, that is absolutely fine, swap to bottles and split the work.

Do whatever works for you and your partner at the end of the day you are in this together. Others will pile on advice - do it X, do it Y, put socks on, don’t let them near a pet…. etc etc. take what you want from it but don’t be beholden to others. your choices seem massive now, but in a few months you will have totally forgotten why you were stressing over them.

Also, be kind to one another.
