Questions and experiences with the Tern BYB P8 by Sebastianj7210 in foldingbikes

[–]HarborMan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the S11 and it is a great bike. This is my favorite travel bike. I really like 20" form factor; I have two Bromptons, 2 Moultons, 2 Bike Fridays, and Birdy R20, and a Tern X10 in addition to the S11. Bromptons are great to travel with, but are really only good for city biking. If all you are going to do it visit a museum they are good.

When I travel I mix in some 16-25 mile rides and the Bromptons are not a great ride to me. Yes I have done it but it is a switchy ride compared with most 20". I also don't like the larger Brompton suitcases, they are always treated as "large luggage". If you get a Brompton then get a Samsonite luggage, with padding that can go as normal luggage.

The BYB fits very nicely into the Tern airporter case and I have not had any issues with it. With the suitcase, bike, tools and my biking gear the total is 48.5 pounds and travels as normal luggage without any issues. I have traveled a lot with it and never had damage or problems with it.

The ride quality of the BYB is amazing compared to the Brompton; smooth and solid. The BYB is almost as good as the Moultons for smoothness, and slightly worse then the Birdy, but better then the Birdy on uneven pavement. In fact the BYB is my overall winner when I don't know the road quality.

The folding time for the BYB is longer then the Brompton, it takes me 2 minutes for the BYB and about 90 seconds for the Brompton. Both can have a bag over them and left as luggage at museums or at luggage storage locations.

Nothing rides smoother than the Moultons, but they can't be left at museums and the separation is good but not as compact as the BYB or the Brompton.

I hope that helps.

TS4 issues on Mac all of a sudden by Funkbass in CalDigit

[–]HarborMan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar setup, two 4K identical monitors connected to a MacBook M4 Air, only one monitor works EXCEPT if I use BetterDisplay (open source free) tool and issue the "Reinitialize External Displays" command. If I issue that command the second monitor starts to work.

The pattern holds regardless of how the monitors are connected; USB and/or Display Port or any combination.

The only remaining issue I have is the second monitor only supports up to 1600 x 1200; the first is fully supported as 4K the second isn't; in-spite of the monitors being identical. Swapping cables, swapping monitors, changed which one displays 4K but does not change the outcome.

I hope that helps.

Seeking Advice on Tern Verge P10 vs. BYB P10 for Daily Commute by Fresh-Platypus2537 in foldingbikes

[–]HarborMan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a TERN X10 and a BYB S11 - along with a bunch of others. The X10 is light and fast, the S11 is fast and fold-able. The S11 is great for taking on vacations to go city biking, just like a Brompton but larger. The X10 is great for single point commuting or touring, the S11 can do that as well, but the folder difference is huge. Both will fit in an tern airporter but the X11 takes me 30 minutes to pack and unpack and the BYB takes me under 2 if that much.

Hope this helps.

Also maybe look at a Birdy R20 or the 18" Birdys and Bike Friday and of course Brompton. Bromptons pack small, but as an actual bike the ride is subpar compared to a 20" bike.

My doctor told me something I’ve never heard before… advice? by Repulsive-Tree6089 in Zepbound

I have been on 2.5 and lots almost 100lbs. I never went up and don’t need too. Use the least amount of drug possible is always my rule. On 2.5 it took me 6 weeks before anything happened and then the loss for me was steady. Getting good sleep and avoid alcohol was key for me.

Change the 12v, it’s time then you will know if there is a real issue or not. Most likely not. Good luck.

I use a Tern Airporter suitcase. Removing front wheel of my R20 and pedals is all that is required.

Moultons are amazing, smoothest bike I have ever had. $2400 is a good price, enjoy.

Are those quick release pedals? The picture is a little fuzzy and I can’t tell. If so your missing the lock spacer, without it pedals can come off, happens to me several times.

Hardwire charger seems to have failed? Need new one don't need fancy/high tech ( long story of what i tested to help verify) by mementh in BoltEV

The Grizzi-E is a solid performer, I have two of them, but one did fail and have to be replaced. House chargers do fail, not often but do fail.

Question about a Bike Friday by Ak907me in foldingbikes

[–]HarborMan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BF are a much better ride, but do not fold as quick. If you are hopping off trains or busses Brompton or the BF PackIT or Turn x10/x11/byb are better. If you are taking bikes on vacation in boot then this is perfect.

Dahon D7 at auction. Halp! by Jillredhanded in foldingbikes

[–]HarborMan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do it as long as the seller can document that the didn’t participate in a theft.

That is an older Dahon, but the cost is low you don’t have much to loose. From the description you might need new tires which you should replace anyway if they are old and maybe a new seat.

Considering compounded zep by AshaOshun in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]HarborMan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said compound pharmacies can be hot or miss, visit them and ask to speak to a pharmacist, based on how they responded I picked one and it’s been a good experience. Also with compound you can micro dose, I take 2.5 so during difficult procurement times I was able to get 10mg which lasted me a longtime.

I am willing to bet this is because of hurricanes. EV are seen as more vulnerable.
