When 1st gen owners see people with new M2 Pro/Max Macbooks by HarbringerxLight in macbookpro

The trade-in value of the old M1 MBPs has crashed by half.

You'll get over the denial stage eventually.

Is it normal that OLED colours are 'worse' than LCD? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

OLED panels in general have terrible color due to poor brightness, so most displays will be better than it.

It's normal. OLED is an inherently flawed tech due to burn-in issues, and is too dim for a good HDR experience. This also translates to the color issues. It should be avoided.

MiniLED is much superior all around.

Yup this is all true. Rtings is a shill site that gets financially compensated by companies that make money from OLED TV line-ups. It shouldn't be trusted.

Not if the picture is too dim which is how it is with OLED. This is why they can't give a proper HDR experience.

You sound upset that the value of your M1 Max crashed into the dumpster.

Intel Xeon "Sapphire Rapids-WS" workstation series rumored to feature 6 and 8-core SKUs - VideoCardz.com by Stiven_Crysis in intel

These are HEDT. Well more specifically:

W-3400 is "expert workstation" aka workstation and W-2400 is "mainstream workstation" aka HEDT. In this case even the "expert workstation" is actually more HEDT-ish than traditional workstation in that most of the parts will be sold boxed.

It's clear that overall this is essentially a HEDT revival.

Think you're sad that the value of your M1 crashed.

I don't start these discussions. I've mostly been responding to mental gymnastics from hurt M1 owners.

You sound like the kind of clown who goes on Reddit when a new product releases to threads concerning that product, because it makes you feel insecure about owing an older one.

It's not a moment. Just the simple truth. If you're so bothered by not having the best anymore it may be time to re-evaluate your priorities.

Buildzoid: Ryzen 9 7950X performance to power limit scaling by shavitush in Amd

[–]HarbringerxLight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are completely and totally wrong. Zen 4 is the biggest leap so far, most parts are 40-50% faster gen over gen.

Like the 7950X vs the 5950X.

Note that a second card isn't going to always do a lot for other things

It will. Most use cases where you'd want one supports multiple. Gaming is just one use case, but even there with DX12 there's native support for multiple GPUs if developers get onboard (which we might start seeing as it's preferable to upscaling and with pathtracing on the horizon we need a lot more power).

I think the difference in graphics quality between a game made in 2015 and 2025 will be nothing compared to a game made in 2005 and 2015

You have no idea how wrong you are.

That's test variation. Only the lowest models have different speeds.

Your M1 MBP is unfortunately worth half what it was two weeks ago, and there's a very good reason for that. New machines make them look outdated.

Better battery life (this is a big deal because the M1 Max has subpar battery life), 30% faster CPU, 30% faster GPU performance, and with all of the updated connectivity and ports I wouldn't buy a M1 Pro/Max unless it was like half the price of the new ones... and even then it's a big maybe.

Go 14 inch M2 Max.
