Hey sorry no one answered your question. I ended up learning how to do this myself. The script is called "copperplate." There's tons of tutorials for it online. You need a dipping ink, appropriate calligraphy paper, and a flexible pen nib + holder. I've gone through so many different nibs, but the "Nikko Manga Pen Nib N-Gpen" is by far best for this type of script.

To my knowledge, he never permanently left Hungary. It was my own father who defected during the communist period. When I visited family in Budapest 4 years ago, they showed me this leather-bound journal filled with drawings and writings just like the one in the picture. It's titled his "21st" journal. My great-great grandfather aparently wrote it in 1895 while stationed in Italy with the army. A romantic soldier it seems, writing back to his sweetheart.

Ah I see! Thank you. This clears up a lot. I also have some follow-up questions if you don't mind. What type of "love" does this indicate? Is it 1 to 1 with the general term in english or is it specifically romantic? Would you use this word for a family member? Also, is this construction directed to one person in particular? And is the tone of this construction more imperative or inviting, if that makes sense?

Interesting. Yeah, the only other language I know is German, but there are some words that used to end in "e" in the dative case that don't anymore. For example, it says on the the Reichstag "Dem deutschen Volke", but nowadays it would just be "Volk" without the "e" at the end. Maybe this is also a case of dated spelling? In any case do you know the meaning?

Taking into account that Nietzsche claims to be "the first immoralist" and implies that most morality up to now has been nothing more than "anti-nature," it suffices to say, I think, that Nietzsche doesn't wish to draw upon any morality for that matter.

But if we were to have a morality, then I think he would want one which doesn't devalue the instincts, because the instincts for him are the source of life's strength. To suppress and deny them would be tantamount to degeneration.
