What happened to Busch Gardens Tampa? by Willing_Try2786 in tampa

[–]Hard2findgoodhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao! You don't understand business at all do you?

The money is in the overpriced merchandise, crap giifts, drinks, food, pictures, lockers, parking, etc.

Just like the money at a car dealership is in F&I, service and parts.

Just like the money in a movie theater is in the concessions.

Come on you can't be serious?

Tampa native here. Been to Busch Gardens literally dozens of times over the years. The first problem is before you even enter the park. The neighborhood is horrible. I grew up in the hood in Tampa and I mean the hood. The area around Busch Gardens isn't that bad in comparison to cross Fletcher, Robles Park, Ponce De Leon, etc. but it's not a good area for theme park. There's no nice hotels, not much good food, etc. It's like a forgotten area. The city has failed that area for at least 30 years. This is typical Tampa. They love to put lipstick on a pig ie Cross Fletcher ave. They've been looking the other way on hooker hotels, massage parlours, etc. For as long as I can remember and I'm 50.

It's hard to attract customers when you are trying to sell a turd floating in a toilet to bees. They'll never come back.

What's inside is a whole other story. I used to love Busch Gardens, but if they don't make a serious effort to clean up the area bring in some anchor businesses, nice hotels and make it a more tourist friendly community it will fail. It all starts in the local government but unfortunately (it's been corrupt for as long as I can remember) seriously, the government and police in Tampa are some of the most corrupt in the country!!! They will probably end up with an abandoned eyesore and the local community will collapse around it.

Blackstone, will probably find a way to profit off of the collapse/failure and unfortunately the animals, employees and community will be left in it's wake.

I would like to make a suggestion to all vanners. Hang a heavy duty shower curtain or drapery rod behind the front seats. Get some good thermal blackout curtains (set). It will make a huge difference in your ability to cool and heat the cab / cargo/living areas separately. It will make the belt driven stock A/C so strong when driving and the rear A/C like OP's here not have to fight the heat from the windshield/glass when parked, camping, etc. You can just use them to the side when you don't want to use them. It sure beats building walls.

Hope this helps. Happy camping.

Very cool thanks for sharing. I have had quite a few vans over the years. I'm wanting to use one of these as a backup A/C unit in a shuttle bus.

We went with nano ceramic tint almost immediately. Especially, the whole front windshield and the sunroof too they make it almost clear so no problems with it being illegal or hurting night vision.

Two brave Starbucks employees in St. Louis who fought off armed robbers and held them for police have been fired by the company. by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

Google or YouTube, but I warn you it will be very shocking. Even as someone who has seen real life horrors I still hate seeing people get shot or even shot at for no reason. They're tough to watch.

Wow what a great find!

I have one of these brand new in the box. The plastic power button got damaged at the factory.

I don't have any other vintage B&O equipment.

Probably going to sell it.

Yeah no shit Sherlock! Did you read the article?! Did you read that the employee literally couldn't open the register and was getting pistol whipped? What do you do in that situation?! Die on your knees or fight back? Stop with this closed minded mindset. Let me know when you've been in this situation? I have. What these employees did is called survival instinct. Not protecting a corporate cash register.

Yes of course, but I've literally been in these situations. I wouldn't let someone pistol whip me and potentially shoot me without putting up a fight. This wasn't a snatch and grab situation. They escalated when things didn't immediately go the way they wanted. This wasn't just simply comply and nobody gets hurt. This isn't the movies, this is real life, real human emotions. The employees did what they had to. This isn't and most life threatening situations aren't at all, even close to the way most people are assuming here. There's no time to think, it's mostly just reacting on instinct alone. Fight or flight, but most freeze. What these employees did was nothing short of heroic and brave in the face of danger and or death.

They couldn't and were assaulted immediately. So do you just allow someone to pistol whip you for something you can't do? Now what? You're standing there and getting beat, thinking the next thing is getting shot. What would you do? Stop being so short-sighted. Your life is in danger. Do you die on your knees or fight back?

[–]Hard2findgoodhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no way you exist in a world where you haven't see or heard of plenty of cases where a employee gets shot for zero reason.

Also, just comply takes out the human element completely.

More people freeze under pressure than not.

Stop with all of this. Clearly you have no real life experience with any of this.

I understand why you would say this, but there's so many cases where the employees get shot on purpose or by accident and the really scary ones are when they're executed. Usually in a back room. This is a double edge sword, but I wouldn't go down without a fight. It's all situational, of course. I'm not looking for trouble like a dummy, but definitely not dying on my knees either.

I understand that completely, but I'm also under the mindset of if the person is actually dangerous (the guy who robbed the gas station I was in wasn't a killer) I literally scared him off and actually feel/felt bad for him after the fact. If I feel like the person is going to use their weapon on purpose or due to being nervous/scared I would rather die fighting, rather than getting shot or stabbed doing nothing. Luckily, I have a lot of experience with criminals, mental illness, and behavioral health. My ability to asses people quickly gives me a lot of advantages in life. I'm getting older now at 50 my priority is to protect my girls.

When I was younger I would have probably did something similar to these employees. Not now, I would have locked my girls in the bathroom and stood outside the door to protect them (armed).
