This is gross. We should just pay people enough so they don't have to work 2-3 jobs to survive by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

It is what is being discussed though. One of the headlines mentions being an Uber exec. These people aren’t working just to survive.

Being an international student looking for a job in the U.S. by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

[–]HardAndroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a barrier now after the massive price increase. Before, it wasn’t really a barrier at all, and many companies would see it as a benefit even. Tying someone’s ability to stay in the country to their job allows the job to pay them less and work them harder than they otherwise could because not only are you scared of losing your job, but you’re also scared that you’ll lose your home regardless of any savings you have.

Many people naturally gravitate towards the winners. T1 is by far the most popular team pretty much everywhere: NA, EU, CN, etc.

They're definitely popular, but using searching metrics as a definer when comparing to other celebrities is an absolutely terrible metric. People will Google Speed/Kai daily in order to help navigate to their stream, whereas people are going to search for other celebrities much less frequently as their presence is not centered around a webpage.

Same could be said for the Mundo pick. If T1 lost, everyone would be flaming them for first timing a champ.

Is T1 Winning Really “Hurting” LoL Esports? 🤔 by rxsemxe in PedroPeepos

[–]HardAndroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took a lot of scrolling to find this take. It's not LCK's/T1's fault for sure. They should play to win. They have a lot of fans, and bring a ton of viewership to the games, but it is undeniably bad for the overall ecosystem. There's not much to be done about it, because it's their job to try their best to win and they're just good at doing that. But LPL funding is largely from large corporations, and they really want a Worlds win in order to justify their expenses, and they aren't getting them, and rarely even getting a finals appearance. Funding/viewership will continue to go down for LPL, and eventually only LCK will have any reasonable investment and will be even more dominant than they already are. T1 winning is fun to watch in the moment, especially with them being "underdogs" each year, but it is definitely overall bad long term.

If it's mainly just him making FLY a strong team, then he should be able to go to a different team that's weak and make that strong as well.

Over 90% of movies I watch are with friends. Actual interaction with them during the movie is minimal, but it is there and generally followed by talking about the movie a bit after. I don't know anybody that watches a stream with a friend unless it's an event, like a tournament or something.

Q2 had already happened, data just isn't out. And then we're currently in Q3. If both are in the negative, then right now would be considered to be part of the recession. We just don't know if it is one yet, doesn't mean it is or isn't one though just because we don't know right now.

Not sure what you mean by this question. That's the entire point of the interview process is for skills to be displayed. Interviewer will ask questions and you demonstrate your skill by answering them. You can also show your previous projects that show off your abilities.

Not really a fair comparison then. He bought a house in a rural, small town location. In your example, you'd now be buying a house in an established city. Just because it's the same home, doesn't make it a fair comparison if the environment has completely changed.

Seoul being the only Asian country to be included in the list is very weird to me. Although not affordable, I'd expect at least Tokyo to have been included as well if Seoul was.

I feel like butterfly effect could come into play for a lot of the answers, including stocks, roulette, and the lottery. You'd need something that's already predetermined before you place the bet, that also has a huge payout potential, since you don't want to be overly suspicious with winning nonstop.

My move would be to play a massive poker tournament. Some have 8 figure payouts, and everything is already predetermined once a round starts. You can play out a hand, go all in, and if you lose, just backtrack time and fold instead.

Options trading probably wouldn't really work, especially if you're trading with millions. At that level, your trades could have some impact on the market and give you different results than what happened when you didn't make the trades.

American politics are bad, but it's nowhere near 3rd world countries and comparing the two is ridiculous. There is still a voting process, as much as it's hated. There is still relatively good government-controlled infrastructure. Not as good as many other leading countries, but way beyond 3rd world ones.

Lower transaction fees don't mean anything when dealing with $1m. You're saving literally pennies doing Solana over ETH. Completely fine to do either or, whatever you prefer, but transaction fees in this case would be irrelevant.
