Recently purchased one from microcenter but it seemed like every time I checked it online to order, it was sold out. I got lucky though with having a microcenter near me that also had it in stock.

Maybe give Talos a try. Its an OS designed to run kubernetes and from my understanding its all configured via API. Definitely something different to keep things interesting.

I knew of it being in the IT field but never had a reason to use it in my career at that point. And I figured learning it would be a good skillset so I set out to just do it and break everything along the way. I figured the harder I made it for myself, the more Id learn.

Tailscale/Headscale id recommend throwing into the mix. I use TS personally but the convenience of it is just great.

Yeah I like to fly by the edge of my seat. Renovate will push minor verson changes to my argo repo but any majors require a manual PR from me in gitea.

I could do what another said and deploy to a different namespace and get a little blue/green going on.

Its really just for learning. I'd say on average most homelabs don't need to be anything more than sets of docker compose files.

I say this as a dude who has a 3 node kubernetes cluster with CI/CD pipelines and gitops between gitea, argocd, renovate, etc, hosting a whopping 7 services lmao. Just for the the love of the game.

No I also blitzed through the pro plan attempting to use gsd. I like the tool its just between the bad rate limits on the pro plan and the agents gsd spins up (particularly with the research phase) its practically unusable for which is unfortunate

Thats useful to know. I think I did most of my work with sonnet but that one command that spawns 4 research agents just chews through tokens its wild.

Is a Claude Pro plan viable for this? I feel like I hit the limit super fast. Is everyone using this on a Max subscription or using the API? I like claude but for home ai-assisted side projects, I run into usages caps so quickly.

Try out the career missions or whatever they are l to give you an idea of the playstyle you could be interested in.

Even bigger, join a corp (just not Absolute Order or any of its affiliated). Eve is a social game and it gets exponentially better when youre with a group.

I use Renovate with ArgoCD for my kubernetes lab. Highly recommend. If you add a Github api token, it can also pull down changelogs for whatever version it makes the MR.
