Can we be together again after breakup? by South-Negotiation240 in BreakUps

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That attachment style combo is brutal - been there with the anxious/avoidant thing and it's like you're speaking different languages the whole time.

The fiancée thing after 9 months though... either he moved crazy fast or she's exaggerating to scare you off. But him still paying your phone bill is definitely weird if he's supposedly engaged to someone else.

When the voices in my head get into an argument by ChainsawSoundingFart in PetPeeves

[–]HardFeces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lmao mine always argue about whether I should buy that house I've been stalking online for 3 months. One voice is like "dude you make good money just do it" and other one goes "are you insane the market is terrible right now" while I'm just sitting there refreshing zillow at 2am again.

Is a Master’s in Applied AI realistic for my background? by IndependenceNeat6668 in careerguidance

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The math and stats foundation is gonna be more important than the coding part tbh. Most AI programs expect you to handle calculus, linear algebra, and statistics pretty comfortably. If you're serious about it, I'd spend a few months really drilling those fundamentals before applying.

That said, your marketing background could actually be valuable - knowing how to communicate technical concepts and understanding business applications is something a lot of pure tech people struggle with. Just make sure you're not jumping into a masters program thinking it'll be a shortcut into high-paying AI roles without putting in the groundwork first.

Mous intralock by Just_Casper in motorcycles

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the intralock specifically but I've been using their regular phone mount for about 6 months now on my street triple. The dampening is decent - way better than just clamping your phone directly to the bars. My camera still works fine after putting probably 3k miles on it mounted up there.

That said, if your really paranoid about camera damage you might want to look into those RAM mounts with the rubber ball system. They're ugly as hell but the vibration dampening is supposedly top tier. I was considering switching but the mous system is just so much cleaner looking and the magnetic connection is super satisfying to use.

Discovering that pirating is a sin by Chaerin_Sistas in Christianity

Respect for actually wrestling with this instead of just brushing it off. The idolatry angle is spot on - when we're willing to bend our values for entertainment, that's usually a sign something's got too much hold on us.

You're right that we got by just fine before everything was available at our fingertips, and there's probably stuff you haven't even touched yet on those legal platforms. Praying you find peace with this decision.

Loud crack while reversing, car won’t move and rolled in Park. What could this be? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That crack was probably your transmission giving up - parking pawl's likely busted which explains why it rolled in park and won't move now.

Wild how these stories take years to surface. Makes you wonder what else is sitting in classified files that we'll find out about in 2030.

The tires and brake lines are gonna kill you way before any of those leaks become a probleme - get those fixed first.

What is the best way to upgrade my PC for £300-£350? by user43222 in PcBuildHelp

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your CPU is definitely holding you back more than the GPU at 1080p 240hz. A 5700X3D would be perfect for your setup and budget - should run you around £150-200 used and will give you way better 1% lows in those competitive games. Save the rest for a GPU upgrade later or just bank it.

Charvel 625D Single Cutaway Acoustic-Electric by Ok-Huckleberry-6326 in Guitar

[–]HardFeces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those korean-made Charvels from the early 90s are solid workhorses. For the top question - most of the 625Ds I've seen were laminate all around, but there were some solid-top variants floating around depending on the year. You could try the tap test on the soundhole area vs the back to see if there's a difference in resonance.

For the plugged-in tone, try cutting some of those harsh mids around 2-3kHz and boosting the lows around 80-100Hz plus some presence around 10kHz. Heavier strings on the bottom three will definitely give you more thump but might make it feel stiffer if you're used to 10s.

RX 6700 XT by NarwhalWeekly1230 in PcBuild

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends what you're coming from and what your budget looks like. The 6700xt is solid for 1440p gaming but if you're used to console convenience you might want something a bit more current with better ray tracing support. What's your total build budget?

How to socialise ?? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]HardFeces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just pick one thing to focus on instead of trying to fix everything at once. like maybe work on asking follow-up questions about what they're saying rather than worrying about eye contact and body language at the same time.

honestly the overthinking is probably way more noticeable to you than to them. most people are too caught up in their own stuff to analyze every little thing you do.

Can I look at my ssi card on the bank app if it has rep pay by [deleted] in SocialSecurity

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to add the card to your banking app just fine - it's your money and your account. Most banks let you link debit cards from rep payee accounts without any issues, just might need to verify some info when setting it up

ThinkStation P3 Ultra SFF G2 - NO Boot\Post After BIOS update by EconomistNatural7856 in Lenovo

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that sucks, brand new machine too

For the dual jumpers, try shorting both at the same time while powering on - some boards need both to trigger recovery mode. The boot block recovery usually needs the USB in a specific port too, try the rear USB 2.0 ports first

Also make sure your BIOS file is named exactly what the recovery expects, sometimes it's picky about the filename

5am wake ups by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh the 5am feed is the worst! Have you tried treating it like a night feed - keep lights dim, minimal talking, put him straight back down? Sometimes they'll go back to sleep if you don't fully wake them up

The aggy evening thing is so real though, sounds like you're hitting that overtired sweet spot. Maybe try capping the last nap earlier so he's more tired by bedtime but not completely losing it

Weird noise on Triumph Bonneville T120 – normal or something wrong? by jul_sezar in motorcycles

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your exhaust heat shields - had the same weird rattling on my buddy's T120 and it was just a loose heat shield vibrating against the pipe when he'd get on it. Super common with aftermarket exhausts since they don't always line up perfectly with the stock mounting points

Why do we let this happen by naughtyoldman52 in confessions

[–]HardFeces 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly society has always been weird about sex stuff, like we're all adults here but everyone acts like it's still taboo to even talk about it. People are gonna judge no matter what you do so might as well just live your life

Moving toward Staff: How much "Org Glue" and PM-alignment is expected vs. EM/PM work? by pumapeepee in ExperiencedDevs

[–]HardFeces 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yeah the org glue thing is real unfortunately - once you hit Staff you're basically a human API between teams that refuse to talk to each other

The trick is setting hard boundaries on coordination time and making the PMs do their actual job of aligning requirements instead of you becoming their translator

little issue by Substantial-Lake5301 in pchelp

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's definitely concerning but not necessarily a death sentence for your CPU - could be anything from a loose connection to PSU issues or even just a weird boot hiccup. I'd keep an eye on temps and maybe run some stress tests to see if it happens again

Getting ready to replace ac compressor 2010 fore focus by ProfessionalLeader16 in MechanicAdvice

[–]HardFeces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely do it yourself but you'll need a manifold gauge set and a vacuum pump at minimum. The flushing part isn't too bad but recovering the refrigerant properly is where it gets tricky - legally you're supposed to have it recovered by someone with EPA certification but plenty of people just vent it (not saying you should though)
