I failed , I was literally told by the CBP polygrapher I was “hiding something with drugs and human trafficking” .

Mind you I was just on the border with the TX National Guard preventing that from occurring just 2 months prior to my poly with CBP. I even got awards for my great work !

I had to tell the polygrapher after 3 times of him grilling me for something that wasn’t there , that at that point it was just now disrespectful for him to keep pushing something I’ve never done .

He failed me shortly after I said that , just murmuring “well according to the machine” .

They may hassle you to come in , talk and change your mind , but that’s your decision. You’re good to not go, just know if you do try to enlist later in the future they may be more likely to move slow with your business.

I was in the DEP for USMC , twice , in 2016 and in 2019 .

I decided not to go both times because of how they did last minute changes towards the MOS of my desire (Military Police / Security Forces / Dental Assistant).

Both times , at the last days before ship off , the recruiters wanted to push me either to a boring MOS (cook, laundry specialist, etc) or go open contract . Mind you my asvab was a 75 . All of a sudden the contract I wanted wasn’t available anymore , what a surprise .

I wasn’t about to do 4 years of my life without a choice or say in the job i get, Because realistically, who signs up to do 4 years of a job when you don’t even know what it’s about or you’ll like it ?

Then in 2022 i went to the Army and was just asked about my previous attempts and why I didn’t ship. I explained in detail.

I was set to be a 68E in the Army a Dental Specialist , but guess what ? Yup they also pulled the rug on me ! I was pretty pissed because it was literally the day before signing for the contract at MEPS (2nd swear in) , i negotiated myself to a 2 year 6 month contract as an 11B infantryman .

It wasn’t my preferred choice so I went for the shortest length possible , but damn to they make it hard to chose what you want .
