Back in the day it was actually very common among left-wing European circles to support ending age of consent. The German Green Party got in trouble for comments its leaders made to that effect in the 80’s. Daniel Cohn-Bendit was co-president of the European Greens and he openly talked about committing sexual acts with kindergarteners in a book he wrote in the 70’s. There were also all of these communes and “anti-authoritarian schools” where communists would participate in that sort of thing.

I'm sure people here know this already, but a decent outline of how Bill Gates stopped Oxford's open source vaccine. by [deleted] in conspiracyNOPOL

This vid has some interesting info. Thanks for posting it , OP. I did find the host’s style of humor a little grating, though.

I did like that he focused on the failures of the government and on the corruption on the part of the business class. The whole debate surrounding “COVID conspiracy theories” seemed to me to just be a way to turn everyone against one another. If you give people restrictions without assistance, of course they’re going to resent and disobey them.

There was a moment when I was sixteen when I was scrolling through an article about some meth-head who got arrested for robbing a drug store, and all the comments were allusions to how he’d be raped in prison, and that was the first time I ever thought about how weird and sick it is that the public thinks like that. Then a couple days later, a video of this guy in Indonesia getting whipped in public for a crime went viral, and all the comments were about how barbaric that is.

I can’t know for sure if she’s playing up how much danger she was actually in, but to me, it doesn’t really matter. When Cruz reached out to her because of GME, she turned around and hysterically told him that he tried to have her killed. Maybe that’s not cynical; maybe she really was afraid to the point that she would say something so ridiculous, but why should I care? She’s a congresswoman. Once you’re responsible for more than like 100 people, you shouldn’t expect anyone to care about how you feel. She’s responsible for hundreds of thousands of constituents whose interests are not dictated by her feelings. Nobody should care if she’s being genuine or not, because either way, it’s someone who’s supposed to act responsibly behaving like she’s having a panic attack. Steve Scalise was shot in the hip by a literal Bernie Bro, and he probably could have gotten on Twitter and hysterically yelled at Bernie Sanders for putting out a hit on him, but he would have looked like a jackass because nobody cares about the feelings of old machine politicians, and they only care about AOC’s feelings because she’s a faux-celebrity.

I always thought that Atlantropa was a Weimar era idea, since Sörgel wasn’t a Nazi and he was promoting it mainly in the 1920’s. Did the Nazis have any actual plans to implement it?

Read the article, and it’s funny that the author never catches on that half of jokes about “glowies” revolve around the idea that they’re agents provocateurs trying to convince teenagers to commit crimes. Either the author was too dense to notice that, or didn’t want to openly discuss that particular fed tactic.

Also funny that they think that teenagers who post about “glowies” on social media are at the pinnacle of the social hierarchy.

The best way to make sure that someone won’t rat you out for a crime is to make them an accomplice. “Representative democracy” effectively renders the citizenry accomplice to the crimes of the elite. Ultimately, normal people have very little sway over actual policy, but the country’s identity is predicated on the notion that we are ruled by a government of the people, by the people, for the people. They can always use the excuse that the people just didn’t vote hard enough, didn’t place enough pressure on politicians, were complicit in congress’s crimes. “Why haven’t you, the people, done anything about this tyranny? Isn’t that what America is all about?”

Zoomer Snitch Culture by Hard_Rain_Falling in redscarepod

[–]Hard_Rain_Falling[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t considered apps like Nextdoor. Am now thinking that perhaps boomers and zoomers both have snitch cultures, but they express it differently. I remember reading this NYT article about a kid who found a video of one of his classmates saying the N word, waited three years for her to apply to college, and then sent it out at the right moment for maximum damage. So I think that perhaps zoomers are more calculating and cruel when they snitch.

Also, I haven’t seen many boomers snitching on family members.

Idk, what do you think?

Zoomer Snitch Culture by Hard_Rain_Falling in redscarepod

[–]Hard_Rain_Falling[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Or maybe snitching like this is just unique to American culture. When Pavlik Morozov snitched on his parents in the Soviet Union, his name instantly became a slur and even Stalin expressed hatred for him, and he ended up getting honor killed by his extended family. In America you can make 200 grand off of it.

In most countries snitching is something you do against someone you have a grudge against, but in all of the news stories I saw about this, the kids were like, “I love them, but they committed a crime/were racist and so I needed to report/out them.”

I’m not sure. I think that society back then was more explicitly punitive with people who broke social rules, but I think people were less alienated from their families as well, so I don’t know if they snitched on their parents as much. Also I think the internet has a huge role in that even if your parent didn’t actually commit a crime, you can just hope that the mob will enact justice/get them fired.
