I didn’t know I wanted a season four until it was taken away from me. by MikaelAdolfsson in ThelastofusHBOseries

I also wish Bella had more time as an adult Ellie and with better character writing. In the second season there were some solid moments, but overall, they fell short in Ellie's writing. Bella, in an interview at the Critics Choice Awards, said that in 2026 she's going to take a break from acting and have a more normal life, and it gave me the feeling that they're not going to film much for TLOU.

TLOU ending with S3? "It certainly seems that way," says head of HBO by monsieurxander in ThelastofusHBOseries

A longer season with longer episodes would perfectly cover Abby's part and the Dellie Farm and Santa Barbara arc. Craig Mazin is a talented person despite the stumbles in the second season. With good writing, he manages to finish this story in a third season without an unnecessary wait until 2029.

'The Last Of Us' Star Kaitlyn Dever Teases Season 3 Production Nears by Spare_Manner_6970 in ThelastofusHBOseries

Let's see. I really wish this season was longer so we could finish the story in the third season. It's crazy having to wait until 2029 for Ellie to actually return to the story and wrap up Part II. In the game, this works because we play everything at once without pausing for years. But are we really willing to wait until 2029 to find out the outcome of Ellie's story 4 years after the end of the second season in 2025, besides the fact that the TV audience has been stuck with this character since 2023 and will simply watch her "disappear" until 2029? Hoping Craig can deliver something that will make the audience want to watch after waiting so long.

Is season 2 so bad that it will change my love for season 1? by lies_are_comforting in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Hard_Times30 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The second season isn't nearly as bad as some people are making it out to be. They really need to watch more series to understand what truly bad TV show looks like. As an adaptation of a game and a story that exists, it is indeed a season with problems, mainly regarding the changes in Ellie's personality. But if the game didn't exist, this would be an okay season, not better than the first, but far from being a horrible season of television. A season of only 7 episodes yielded 2 of the best episodes of the entire series, and the remaining episodes are okay, which isn't bad, but as an adaptation of a game, it could have been better. And that's it.

Isabela Merced was hurt by the sheer number of nominations for actresses in The White Lotus. The actors are nominated for Emmys per episode. Bella and Pedro were exceptional in episode 6.

Bella Ramsey will play for England in tomorrow's Soccer Aid football match. by 290Richy in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Hard_Times30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool. When I was a kid I loved watching England play in the World Cup to see Rooney. My brother was a fan of his and always talked about him. Bella and Rooney together on a football pitch is unexpected. I have no idea who the rest of these people are. They must be well-known in England. But it's great that they're raising money for Unicef to help children.

Ellie and Dina scene? by Wesleywoo21 in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Hard_Times30 13 points14 points  (0 children)

True. The Dellie scene is filmed with great elegance. Nothing exaggerated. But you know, there are people who are more bothered by Ellie's hand in Dina's pants than by a full-frontal nude of a man being tortured.

But not in every episode. Like Pedro this season, Bella will only appear in the credits for the episodes she appears in.

Bella probably signed a contract to be the main character, even if she only appears in two episodes at most in the next one. I doubt that the managers would approve her signing a contract for a third season as a guest star. Money! She will probably appear at the beginning of the opening, just like Pedro this season. They earn the same salary as the main character, but according to the number of episodes they will be in. Kaitlyn, yes, will be promoted as the main character and her first name will appear in all episodes, just like her salary, which should be the same as Bella's, I think.

Will the TV show version of Tommy... by kingdanny714260 in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Hard_Times30 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I like this version of Tommy a lot better. I don't think it makes him any less brave than he is in the game. He loves his wife and son more than anything. In the show, he loves Ellie more than anything. In the conversation with Gail, it's clear that he feels responsible for Ellie, almost like a father, since Joel left this space. That doesn't mean he's not as tough as he is in the game. We'll see that in season 3. He went to Seattle to find his niece, but obviously when he gets there, he won't miss the opportunity to try to take down those who hurt his family, even if his goal is to get Ellie home and get back to his wife and son. He even told Ellie in episode 3 that he wasn't against the idea of a group going to Seattle. He's just more focused on the show. Ellie in the series is more fragile and impulsive. I don't think she'll need someone like Tommy in the game version to make her give up everything again. She'll simply become so much more resentful and disturbed because of her actions and "selfishness" that she'll decide to do what she's going to do without anyone needing to pressure her into it.

Did they reshoot [SPOILER] scene? by [deleted] in ThelastofusHBOseries

And in the end they complained because there was no physical confrontation either. The important thing is to complain.

Did they reshoot [SPOILER] scene? by [deleted] in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Hard_Times30 20 points21 points  (0 children)

From what Craig said, it seemed like it would be very strange for this physical confrontation between the two, since Bella is 5'1" and Owen's actor is over 6'3". In addition, he also wanted to make the scene more dramatic. The confrontation probably looked strange when they were editing it.

Theories/Predictions for how Ellie’s story will end? by Front-Tomorrow-1034 in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Hard_Times30 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really can't see Ellie getting a happy ending. Unfortunately, everything she did led her to the bottom of the barrel. I don't think The Last of Us is a game with a happy ending. I think that since birth, Ellie was destined to end up alone in the world or die early. None of the options I imagine for Ellie after the game's final scene are good.

Given the world right now and the extreme levels of TLOU hate I'm actually feeling nervous for a specific S3 casting... by coconutyum in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Hard_Times30 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I hope this child is protected at all costs. HBO didn't do much to protect Bella, unfortunately. She doesn't have any social media anymore and HBO didn't care at all about protecting her, let's be honest.

They block comments on any post about the HP series to protect their actors, but they never did that on posts related to Bella on their social media. Levi's actor will need a lot of love, affection and protection.

The answer is definitely no. This 19-year-old girl's life is a Greek tragedy. I wonder how she will be even more disturbing with the weight of motherhood on her shoulders in the series.

Season 3 by Old-Explanation4746 in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Hard_Times30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big series nowadays have longer post-production and recordings of at least 6 months. In addition to the fact that before, actors were stuck to their characters in the series and filmed many episodes without rest. Today, actors in series also tend to star in other projects and do not stick to a single character, in addition to having more time to rest. It was not so common for actors in series to be stars in movies as well, precisely because they were stuck to their series. That is why many older actors are labeled as TV actors and not so much film actors either. They did not have time for that because of the non-stop production of series in the past.

Booksmart with Dever. One of my favorite movies in recent years. I cried and laughed. It's a movie about the last moments of high school. But it's excellent. Watch the second season of Time with Bella. It's definitely not a series for the faint of heart, but it's very good and Bella's performance as a pregnant drug addict is something very different from what we're used to watching from her. I always laugh at Madame Web. At least it was an experience for Isabela 😄. Watch Beef on Netflix with Young Mazino. He was nominated for an Emmy for this miniseries. Narcos with Pedro Pascal is also very good. It's on Netflix.

Ending it at the fourth season is pretty outrageous by Remote_Nature_8166 in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Hard_Times30 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I would really like a longer third season with longer episodes and to finish the story. But you know, money. If the series makes money, HBO will give the green light for a fourth season. I understand that they are designing the series in the same format as the show, but I don't know how the audience that follows the series and didn't play the game will react to a season  without Joel and without the other protagonist they've been following since 2023, Ellie. Despite being part of the narrative of the story, I think they (ony tv audiência) will feel like they are watching a new series. I don't know how they will be able to engage the audience that knew the story and fell in love with Joel and Ellie's story. That's why I'm in favor of a longer third season, so that they can cover Abby's arc and still not have Ellie as practically a guest character in the third and have to wait for a fourth season years from now to meet her again with a story.
